Hello, i had the same problem as awena n the exact same device (e585 20kv r5 2500U)

STEP 4: Enter any character when asked for Supervisor Password
When I press F1, a screen is shown asking me to enter the password (on a black background, like a command line) but the keyboard stops working, no buttons on the keyboard work. I also tried to connect a USB keyboard - unfortunately the same thing happened. I tried to turn off and try to repeat all the steps again and again several times - but unfortunately nothing has changed, the laptop seems to freeze. When I restore the backup bios, everything works fine in Windows 10, the keyboard works, the laptop works without any problems (but the password in the bios unfortunately remains and I can't reinstall Windows). I also tried the already patched dump from the forum (post hoaca388):
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...s-dump-request
But the result is the same, you can't enter the password on the patched bios. Maybe someone knows a solution, what am I doing wrong?
but by patching the bios attached by "big-boss1" from https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...b531-bios-dump I managed to delete the password.
    Attached is the patched version.

      Lenovo X380 Yoga

      Hello everyone,

I really need help! I dumped the bios, all good. Patched it, all good. Flashed the patched one, all good. Did all the steps, all good. But when flashing the original bios again, suddenly the chip isn't recognized by the CH341A anymore, it always says IC not responding. Now when I turn on the laptop, the fan shortly spins and the keyboard backlight comes ip for a second, then nothing happens. What could I do? I do not have the equipment or ability to solder the bios chip.

      Kind regards,
      olivettinho

        Hello,

Unfortunately, there are not many options in this situation.

First of all, if possible, try to reflash the last BIOS dump that was known to be working. If the programmer still cannot detect the chip and reflashing is not possible, then there are two main possibilities:
        1. The BIOS chip itself may be damaged. In this case, the only real solution is to replace the chip with a new one that is preprogrammed with a correct BIOS dump.
        2. Carefully inspect the motherboard around the BIOS chip area. It is quite possible that during previous work (or clip attachment) a nearby component was damaged or shifted out of place. Check especially for small resistors or capacitors next to the BIOS chip

Had a similar issue on my T480s. Ended up having to desolder the chip and use a programmer to flash it off-board.

Did that now, too; wiht original bios, fan spins 2 short times, powerled on the button stays on, but nothing else happens. I also used a spare bios chip, nothing changes.

I will try to help you but first:
Provide the full machine model number, serial number (or Service tag, SNID) and the board model number (see https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88758 ) ,The serial number, make, full model number, motherboard model and revision (except QR codes) must be written/typed at your request as per the rules. Not as a picture, part of the file name and so on.

                                Try first this dump.
It should work if you successfully patched and run your original dump making all steps.
If it's not working post your original dump.

                                _EDIT_
Added a second version and a third with brand new BIOS region and a clear ME region as you mentioned.

OK I'll try, after about 3-4 minutes, the fan starts spinning continously and the CPU seems to get warm.

Did that now, runs for about 15 mins, no other reaction; do i need to replug the power cord after the 15 minutes? Or should it show something on the screen?

                                            Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                                            🧩 Initial Issue
                                            • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                                            • External display (HDMI) shows

                                            by cr4zychriss
                                            Hello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

                                            Hello everyone,

I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.

When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.

I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...

                                            Hello everyone,

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 16IAH7. When the device first arrived, there was no display at all.
I had the BIOS cleaned, but the issue was not resolved and there was still no image.

Later, I flashed a different BIOS dump from the same model. With this BIOS, the device boots and display works, but the GPU is not detected in the BIOS (RTX 3060 is missing).

After that, I tried to update the...
