Re: BIOS REQUEST HP 430 g3
Here, read post #184 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...=79956&page=10 .If you can`t read it using the clip then you`ll have to desolder the bios.
With some programmers you need to do this:
*Remove battery
*Attach charger
*Turn on laptop and go to F1, F10 or wherever you like
*Turn off laptop holding down power button (DO NOT REMOVE CHARGER)
*Attach programmer
*Read bios chip content
*Use verify function or read content one more time and compare using hex editor software
*If all is okay, use HPUnlocker tool on the VERIFIED bios dump
*Write the xxx_unlocked.bin file
*Verify bios content
You must always make sure you verify everything you read/write, I cant stress this enough.
And those few first steps are mandatory with some programmers unless you unsolder the chip.Last edited by SMDFlea; 07-17-2020, 11:58 AM.Comment

Re: BIOS REQUEST HP 430 g3
Your bios backup is corrupt near the end. Make another backup to make sure, and post it.Comment

Re: BIOS REQUEST HP 430 g3
The backup appears to be good although the bios itself is corrupt. I can`t find a password in it,i could be wrong.Comment

Re: BIOS REQUEST HP 430 g3
There def is an admin password on the machine.
hpunlocker tool has generated a new file for this bin, shall I write the chip with that and test.?Comment

Yes go for it.Comment

Re: BIOS REQUEST HP 430 g3
That BIOS definitely looks corrupt. If the laptop is working, there's an issue when dumping the BIOS and I'd definitely not feel safe flashing the BIOS.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows
