    Clean ME region 820-00165-A

Hi Guys, first time posting so im hoping someone can help.
Im trying to cleane the ME region from a Macbook Air 820-00165 board,
the BIOS is a W24Q64FVIQ and im using a TL866II Plus programmer with Xgpro software, everytime i pick the bios from the list it keeps failing the ID test. Iv tried several diferent ones from the list but still the same. Iv tried reading the bios without id check but theres slight diferances when i compare the files using Hxd. Any help would be apreciated
    Thanks in advance

remove the chip from the motherboard, do not use the clip, use an adapter for ic, clean the legs of the chip well, if the chip is ok it will work for sure.

I had to remove it from the board as its a WSON package with no leads, and soldered it to the adaptor and double checked the soldered joints and that its the right way round. Im starting to think that maybe the chip itselfe is bad.

Use a multimeter to check continuity between the top 8 pads and legs. Post pictures of the chip soldered to the adapter ,attached to the tl866

Did you try using the auto find feature for 25 series chips?
Also read the data once (so that it fills the buffer), then use the verify feature (will read again and compare the old buffer to make sure both readings are the same).

            UPDATE:
I tried the identical bios from my macbook air and it identified and read it without any problems. So I"m guessing the fault is with the actual chip itself and not a bad ME region as first expected.
