ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Firmware attached,extracted from lenovo updates,plus links to driver downloads.Some models have 2 different firmwares, TBT.bin and AssistTBT.bin for the models that support or have bios assist enabled. NOTE: All the FW will need padding out with zeros using a hex editor to the size of the chip.

Systems may experience any of the following symptoms:

USB-C port not working
Intel Thunderbolt controller not visible in the OS/Device Manager
USB-C or Thunderbolt docking stations not visible or having connectivity problems
HDMI output not available
System battery not charging with a USB-C power adapter connected to the USB-C port
Intel Thunderbolt pop-up error message
Intel Thunderbolt safe mode error message
BIOS Thunderbolt communication error or hang during POST

These symptoms may occur after 6 to 12 months of typical usage.

Hello. I have a Lenovo T480s Type 20L8. I run in some troubles with it. In slow charges and the thunderbolt is not working. When the charger is conected it does not work on 20V. When i open the laptop and the charger is plugged in the laptop complains about the charger. The battery slowly charges when the laptop is off. I can`t manage to put your firmware on my bios. Can you please help? Do you think is a hardware or a software issue?

The thunderbolt firmware is flashed to a different chip,not to the bios chip. You should test with another charger first. If you want more help with it start a new thread in the main laptop forum - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23

Hi i messed up my 25Q80 thunderbolt eeprom by thinking its the bios chip.
I did make a back up of the original ( attached)
but even when I flashed it back I still get the power adaptor not enough warning, so I think it didnt fix the issue.

Hi Master,
Please help me,I have Lenovo thinkpad T480s. use full charged battery can wotking but power LED NOT On.when connect to power adapter
As PF2 has only 5V.No charging.They should bring it up to 20V. I try the docking port, PF1 5V. Check port no problem.I guess may be is U12 problem. firmwares problem.Pleaes tell how to flashe both TBT.bin and AssistTBT.bin to chip?thanks.

I have some issues with this model.
Lenovo Thinkpad x13 Gen1 Type 20ug sn:PC-28QECQW

The type c connector is not getting 20v, only 5v
The second one is working fine.
It's a firmware issue? Can someone help with the bin file?

Yes i upload bin file, it charging with USB Pin and USB C just when is shut down

Hi, I have a T480 not charging batteries, I try another charger but the problem is not charger but I think is the thunderbolt. I follow some tutorial to flash the correct firmware by a ch431a. First I erase the chip, than flash with a null.bin and finally flash with the TBT.bin padded, but the laptop continue to not charge the batteries. The problem is the two batteries are empty and I can't boot the laptop. My question is: is necessary, after flashing, to boot the laptop to complete the process? So can be this the reason why the thunderbolt not charge batteries also with the new unbugged firmware?

I use HEX Editor Neo on Windows. Edit - Change file size - 1024kb - save. It will change the size and fill the rest with zeros.
