Open your bios with a hex editor, search for the word BID .Your BID is 08251 .Go to the HP support site, enter the serial number.Download the bios, run the exe and choose to Save to a location (a folder) .The full 08251 virgin bios will be extracted. You can flash that but you will lose all DMI info.

Using a hex editor copy the DMI from your backup to the virgin bios. I will tell you what the offsets are, only if you are interested in fixing your own bios, rather than have someone do it for you every time.

First you have to see if the file extracted from the exe file is a complete file using the UEFI tool. Usually, the complete bios file will start with the Description area and end with the Bios area. If it's a complete file, just overwrite the DMI block with its exact offset.
In case the extracted file is just the bios region part, you have to specify the starting offset of the bios region in the old bios, overwriting the new bios region. In case the extracted file has only bios region and excess offsets, you have to cut off those extra offsets and then do the same as the second case.

There`s a picture at post #7 the virgin bios is on the left, your backup on the right.Just use a hex editor don`t use UEFITool, keep things as easy as possible.Enter the offsets in your backup to select the area 220000 - 221FFF (Length 2000) ,select copy, then enter the exact same offsets in the virgin bios and choose paste-insert,then save.

APC BR1000G battery backup has a weird issue sometimes a bad battery icon and making a weird sound for about 30 seconds
                                          by sam_sam_sam
This started a few days ago and does this about every 8 hours

After it does this it goes back to normal no bad battery icon and no weird sounds and it goes to battery backup mode so I am not sure what is going on with this battery backup

The battery backup is about 3 or 4 years old

Dose anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot this issue I have never had a battery backup do this kind-a thing before so I am not sure exactly how to troubleshoot it and where to start

                                          Hello,

i hope to find help her in the forum. It is a littlebit tricky. I searched many Days about disabling IntelME that was may major task. So i have a Clevo PD50PNN motherboard.

At first i tried to Backup the BIOS with tools direcly from Windows(normaly i am a Linux user). But no full success because not every part of the bios was readable. So i bought a modified CH341a for a Backup.

Backup worked but since the backup the Laptop is not booting anymore. I flashed the newest Version oft the BIOS with success, verfiy everything ok.
                                          But the...

Recently I used the official Lenovo bios updater software on my ThinkBook 13s G3 ACN (20YA0005GE). The updating process failed and I got a black screen after powering the device. Of course I did not make an own backup before using the Lenovo bios updater.

I bought a CH341A programmer and was able to make a connection to the chip while it is still soldered on board. But I did not realise that the chip was a 16MB size and selected the wrong size (8Mbit / 1 MByte) before reading the content of my chip. So the dump I did before erasing the chip is only 1MByte big. I fear that I lost...
