    Hi everyone,
I need to unlock my BIOS too, System Number 2D25P13-8FC8
I've been reading the forum, and I loosely understood that I need to dump my BIOS. Is there a tutorial for this?
    Thank you

To read the BIOS chip, you need an SPI programmer. There are many YouTube videos that show how to use one > https://youtu.be/Pe3dmPozx4Q
For a list of commonly used programmers, see section 1.1.1.. > https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...=2#post1622421

is this still possible, even as the One-Time Boot Menu is not displayed anymore but the machine starts with the password input field?

Hi, I'm Miguel, I'm begginer here, I'd like to introduce myself to the community. I have the same problem as others with a Dell 7400, but I can't find the physical location UC5 on the motherboard to remove the BIOS chip and perform a BIOS dump. Could it be on the back of the motherboard and to remove totally the motherboard is required to have access the chip?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I'm doing this wrong; it's my first time.

                              Hi,

I have a Dell Latitude 7400 with a locked BIOS (password unknown).

                              Service Tag: GRYDY33
                              BIOS code: 2D4SQ13-8FC8

Before posting any dumps, I would like to ask what exactly is required for a proper unlock on this model.

                              Should I provide:
                              • BIOS dump (UC5 only)?
                              • Full SPI dump (16MB)?
                              • EC dump as well?
                              • Any specific regions or additional data?

I have a CH341A programmer available and can read the BIOS chip, but I’m not equipped for EC programming at the moment.

I want to make sure I provide everything correctly the first time.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

I will read both UC5 (32MB) and UC6 (16MB and verify the dumps before posting.

                                  Hi,

                                  I checked the motherboard carefully.

                                  UC5 is present and populated:

                                  MXIC 25B256DYIG (32MB)

However, UC6 is not populated on this board revision. The UC6 footprint exists on the PCB, but no chip is soldered there.

I also noticed that UC5 is a WSON package (no visible legs), so reading it with a standard SOIC8 clip is not straightforward.

Before I order the proper WSON adapter and continue, I would like to confirm:

Is UC5 alone sufficient for unlocking this model?

Is EC programming likely required on this Latitude 7400 / 8FC8 case?

Has anyone successfully unlocked this specific model using only the UC5 dump?

                                  Thanks again for your help.

Yes, just post whatever is "populated" on your motherboard, in your case it's only UC5

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

I have 2 computers with admin password on BIOS. Standard code generators don't work on this new platform.

I have dumped both SPI chips from the motherboard (16MB and 32MB). Could someone please help me remove the password or clean the ME Region?

Attached are the original dumps. Thanks a lot for your help!
