My Toshiba tablet-laptop suddenly overheated and froze on the password screen. I was unable to type anything, as it became completely unresponsive.

You’re better off looking it up on Google for trustworthy professionals and paying for their services. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this is a free platform, which means anyone helping you is doing so at their own discretion and availability. So you might need to wait until an expert is available.

I've already pinged couple of repair shops in the country while I waited here. Unfortunately, hardly anyone understood what the supervisor password is or even worse, they wanted me to bring in the laptop to diagnose the issue (after I explained what the issue is ), and I really didn't want to travel 5 hours for something that can be fixed online.

Also, 90% of the Google results led to this forum and this thread, everything else looked less trustworthy.
