I am an engineering notebook, the motherboard chipset is also QS, 涮 officially seems to be unable to start up, the boot flashes 5 times to report the motherboard failure, I need to see if the early BIOS can start, need to test.Comment

Hi, masters.
I am repairing, HP Zbook17 G5,
shorted PCH was replaced, now unit start but FAN at full speed and black screen. If I remove RAM sticks, getting beeps.
Can anyone help me to clen ME region? I tried, but no luck, still black screen. I used ME analyzer to check ME version, than ME tool to put new region in, what did I wrong? Anyway can be another problem on board, but would like to try properly cleaned ME (FAN at full speed could be ME region)

Has anyone got the firmware version 12.0.93.2331_COR_H_BA_PRD_EXTR-Y
I was going to clean the ME myself but I can't seem to find this version. I only have to 12.0.92.2145.

Ok it's stuck on the BIOS screen again and no further, can get "Entering Setup..." hitting F10 but it never gets further than that.
I think it may have restored the previous one from the EC? Is this a thing with Sure Start models?
EDIT: Little lookup on HP's website it says it keeps a copy in the HP Endpoint Security Controller which I think has restored some of the bad parts, is there anyway I can update this controller to prevent this data mismatch?Last edited by tccyo22; 09-20-2023, 04:18 AM.Comment

This is my first post here (I am very new to forums!) and I hope someone can help. I am looking for a full dump of the BIOS of a HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 so that I can get this mini server running again. (BIOS version J06 2019-04-04, chip 25Q064A). I think my board was partially bricked after a failed BIOS update.
I got it second hand in this state and all the normal attempts at bios restoration have not worked. I have even desoldered the chip and tried to load the actual BIOS from HP, but it is missing some parts needed to boot the system.

The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

I can get into bios now! I reflashed as instructed elsewhere. With a minimal POST (just 1 stick of ram , GPU, CPU, no drives) I have loaded into BIOS. I am about to reinstall my other hardware components now.
The clips are such a pain to use, soldering would be a great skill to have.

TLDR: I would like to have the clean BIOS dump file for my laptop model.
Issue: First, my speaker wasn't working/showing up, so I downloaded the recommended BIOS update (from Jan 4, 2026) on Lenovo Support for my laptop. This didn't fix the speaker issue after restarting, so then I shut it down and pressed the power button for 60 seconds to perform a reset. I'm guessing I somehow messed up the BIOS because now the laptop won't turn on even after trying the NOVO button on...
