Do you know what a bios ic looks like? Have you taken out the motherboard from the laptop? If I recall its near the sata connector for the laptop (it might be under a foil screen). -
I've got one of these laptops in and it wont boot, but I can't even find the BIOS chip on my board! Can anyone tell me where the chip is located please?

Ok just been reading more information. It now makes sense to transfer my details which are at DMI 3C1000 - 3C11FF onto this bios which should make it operational again. I compared my bios with this bios file yesterday and found too many differences which made me believe the issue was the bios file was missing a load of data. I will patch it up now and reprogram the flash ic again. Hopefully it will be resolved shortly!Leave a comment:

Thank you for replying Peste.you have everything you need at post #7
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-3#post1728023
I did see this when looking for the file, however as I rarely look at bios files for laptops or computers and patching them I am somewhat lost. I have been reading up on it over the last 24hours to try to understand how to go about patching it. Can you point me in the right direction how to patch it as the file doesn't contain my serial number etc. I am happy to learn but so far the tools I have looked at don't appear to be used with this bios, unless I am missing something?Leave a comment:

Unfortunately I have the later version of bios loaded onto my motherboard which means that I am guessing the EC version is different! This bios is 1PCN60WW and my bios is the latest being 1PCN73WW. I have just checked the hard drive and found it is indeed 1PCN73WW bios. I have tried it with this version and the screen boot loops with the backlight screen enabled and then powers off and on again (which is constantly repeated. I can access the bios using the Fn2 key but cannot get it to boot up or show Lenovo logo. Could someone help me out with the attached dump from the laptop please as it has I believe a power on password as it did originally prompt for 'Password' previously when powering on laptop. See my attached dump. This came from a Child's laptop who put the password on and of course don't remember it!
I just had a thought to try loading the latest bios files from the USB port if it was to boot from the usb port and see what happens! Though just checked it doesn't look like they have a dos based version of the bios file so booting from dos doesn't look like an option here!

I did notice this flash ic is a 1.8V and not 3.3V or 5V so be warned when reading it or writing to it!Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem
Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
Initial Findings:- My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
- I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
- I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
- I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.
- I concluded that the

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by gestalt.exeHi everyone,
My Lenovo Legion Y540 (i7-9750H, RTX 2060) bricked after I downgraded from BHCN44WW to BHCN21WW.
Laptop stopped booting entirely.
I used a CH341A programmer to dump the corrupted 16MB BIOS.
i then attempted the following:- Downloaded stock BIOS BHCN39WW from Lenovo
- Trimmed it to 16MB
- Extracted the BIOS region from the corrupted dump
- Extracted the BIOS region from the stock 39WW
- Replaced the corrupted BIOS region with the stock one (within hxd , opened the corrupted dump and replaced its region by the stock)
- Injected back my LDGB / DMI

by grimacelordHello there.
I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.
History:
1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.
I searched for this error online and discovered...-

by to5it0Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS
Hello everyone,
I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.
This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.
I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...2 Photos-
