The password that the current IT person at the company gives me is not recognized and he does not know about the old ones.

                        Welcoming any help available in obtaining a BIOS file to reprogram a significantly corrupt BIOS and thus a paperweight laptop

                        Model: DELL Latitude 7480
                        Mainboard: CAZ20 LA-E131P Rev:1.0(A00)
                        Service Tag: 9Q2SHM2
                        Prior Bios version: ?? I Suspect 1.38 but uncertain
                        Failed Update version: Nov 11 2024 1.39

                        Failed Bios Update Symptoms:
                        - Just a Black Screen; No Dell Logo; No POST; No Firmware recovery screen (CTL-Esc plug in AC release on keyboard backlight); or with local recovery with FAT32 USB with BIOS IMG.rcv from Dell support site. Hard reset removing battery, depleting reserve charge and removing CMOS battery to reset NVRAM also does not assist.
                        - Power is good; Display Pre-Post Check is Good (D+PowerOn);
                        - Laptop was working perfectly prior to firmware update.

                        Have broken a downloaded Dell Firmware file into its multiple bin files using platomav/BIOSUtilities but I am unclear if or how these could be recombined into a single Bin for direct chip programming or in customization of ServiceTag; EthernetMAC. If anybody has done this I would be keen to know how ?

                        Anyway, I'm reaching the point that I'm realizing I need to reprogram the BIOS and obtain a bin file. I have ordered up a chip programmer which is yet to arrive so can't as yet dump the BIOS (Winbond 25Q128JSVQ) but I expect this to be materially corrupt and don't have a backup dump.

                        If anyone could provide a BIOS bin file that would help me get going, I would be most grateful and any experience on the relative success of applying a SOIC8 clamp vs removing the chip would also be useful.

                        Cheers
