lenovo flex 5 bios dump, anybody?

hello all,

i'm looking a bios dump for a lenovo flex 5 1470 type 81c9

i found a dump online and paid $5 for it, but it doesn't boot on the machine either..
symptoms:
power on, but no display
keyboard backlight flashes off, fans turn off
fans turn back on and stay on
only pwr button is illuminated

i took the internet dump and cleaned the ME, but still no boot
i cleaned the ME of the existing bios, but it's just too messed up i guess

original firmware is CSME 11.7.0.3290
internet dump is CSME 11.6.10.1196

can anybody provide a good firmware?

There are many experienced members here in this forum who can try helping you but first you need to help yourself by posting your bios dump here.

that is some serious brevity. are you referring to the manufacturer bios update executable?

Your original bios dump could possibly be repaired . Post both your bios dumps .

that's a great point.
i downloaded the OEM bios update from:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer...s/4qcn45ww.exe
but i couldn't convince any utility to disassemble it

i would value the opportunity to learn from repairing this bios! i have UEIF tool as well as the intel CSME system tools.

how can i attach the dump here?

Below the message box ,click on "Go Advanced" . From there you can attach your dumps, as .zip or .rar .you might have read my post above before i edited it.I edited it because it looks like the bios.exe from lenovo only has a bios update,not the full bios, just wanted to avoid any confusion.

is there an activity threshold which i must exceed before attaching things, or am i just blind?
i only see Submit Reply, Reply, and Up buttons beneath the message box. beneath that is the footer bar w/ legal info.

assuming i can figure out an attachment, i'll post both dumps tonight.

If you have bios programmer. Program this bios and post results.

Your bios is 8,979 KB . I worked out how to unpack it though,and have cut the bios and ec .

Use this bios,but forget the ec ,its just here for others to use with a KBC programmer.

I have a booting laptop.
but as somebody (keenly) observed earlier, what do i do about the windows licensing now?

is there a way to acquire the windows licensing information from the corrupt dump and import into the new ROM?

Yes,there is. Post your old bios .

ahh. i was in some "view mode" which didn't have the "go advanced" button.

this is a very circuitous lesson you're trying to teach. i wasn't asking for somebody to do the work for me, and for somebody as kind as SMDflea to teach me how to do this unforeseen task myself, posting my original dump still remains unnecessary.

all in fact i needed was a working dump, which i received (many thanks!)

here are photos of the key and DMI info from my corrupt dump. i'm going to just overwrite these chunks into the working dump...

just posting them here in case i missed something or made an obvious mistake.

in the future should i encounter this again, are these standard offsets for these data in PC bios? or is there something i should be searching for...

i work primarily on apple EFI, which is structured nearly identically across all systems depending on model year.
