BIOS issue hp probook 440 g4
Hi... My bios had a password and some esteemed members gave me a new bios... its working with some issues ...
1. I am not able to shut down my PC
2. I am not able to enter bios settings
3. System is booting in manufacturing mode...
I just wanted to know if I do a complete factory reset (which puts the system in the condition when I received the laptop) will it restore my original bios as well?Last edited by parag.thakkar.27@gmail.co; 05-09-2020, 12:59 AM.Comment

Re: HP Probook 440 G4 Working BIOS
success: and thanx to you and all who are involved.
i dont know if everyone is doing the process the same or not, here is what i did (first time ever i did a hardware bios flash)
i used ch341 programmer with the clip attachment (so i dont need to desolder)
1) identify chip (a few failed attempts made to get it to read, due to pin-clip orientation) success
2) read/dump chip success
3) load "DA0X81MB6E0 REV. E Working BIOS." to buffer
4) write to device success.
5) verify device/buffer. failed (1-5 multiple times, multiple patched bioses including my own patched one, no joy)
6) put bare min together to check, orange light flash no power
7) erase the bios (scary) success
8) verify blank success
9) load same bios from (3) --- success
10) verify device/buffer success finally.
11) put bare min together, power on, success
12) put all back together
13) power on, check bios/password success
