If it hasn`t worked from USB recovery then your only option is to use a programmer. Make a bios backup first,you can post it here if you want or go ahead and program the BID08217 .It has to be the right one,its the only bios for KABYLAKE H .Note that by programming a virgin bios you will lose all DMI info.That means the serial number and other info. There are some HP DMI tools posted here,and some videos too to help.

Thanks for your help. I will try to use these files to flash on bios chip using flash programmer. it will be last hope for my laptop mobo.

I have done everything to save it but failed now only hope is flashing bios with fresh bin file .

Yes i am trying to recover a bios file from USB or from this forum so i go ahead for flash programmer process.

I have flashed my bios chip Gigadevice GD25B64CS1G using SPi flash programmer , bios file 80217F48, i have read old file using hex editor, bid is 08217 confirmed from old bios file. Now Hp omen 15 Ax236tx laptop fan running but still getting capslock 5 long blink and 3 short blinks. please help what to do next to fix this. any idea thanks

Hi, I did as you said, i created backup of bios flash using ch341a programmer plus soci8 clip adapter from my bios chip , posting here my retrieved dump file from chip. I need help , please check this origional bios dump file which has 08217 bid you were right .

I have already flashed bios with 08217( confirmed bin ) on my chip but still getting no display and capslock blink 5 long 3 short

flashing a bios chip failed it means bios chip is toasted? or need to get new chip from the market and flash it with working bios file

enter the original bios of the laptop and update 08217 in the HxD program, tick in both bios the DMI and KEYWIN region and copy-paste, then rewrite the bios chip.

I have opened origional bios file in hex editor but unable to find DMI and keywin regions.

choosen files are identical when hex editor compares both files except below value

Here is what happend , i flashed bios file which you provided 08217F48 to chip
using Ch341a programmer and it identified chip giga device but showed 2 chips in selection
1- GD25B64
2-GD25B64C

i flashed both one by one with this file , first i read file and it did read it successfully showed me bid number 08217.

One more thing in IC list of the programmer there is no IC list for gigadevice
GD25B64CS1G, list starts with Gd25Q

Adding above if i have flashed bios chip with any of the bios file 08217 virgin one for example it should show display at least asking for product ID etc at display , in my case after flashing bios it has no display at power on and still same capslock 5.3 issue.

correct me if i am wrong , are you saying if i use neo programmer with virgin or old bios it will flash it correctly as it accepts gigadevice GD25B64CS1G chip

NeoProgrammer has a search function,just type in GD25B .If the virgin bios is written correctly you should have something on the display.Erase the chip first,then write,then read back again and compare with HxD ,if there are any differences the bios chip is bad. If it has written correctly then i can only assume that the EC may be corrupt, as it was working ok before the bios update ?

before the bios it was working ok and yes first thing i noticed was while i was looking at my desktop for files suddenly my desktop background went black ( only icons were visible with black screen) after that i tried to upgrade bios and recover bios using CMOS reset but my wireless card or device was not showing in Device Manager and i had to restart laptop to make it visible i shut down my laptop and turned it on again but this time bios corrupted , capslock 5.3 error , tried everything like reseat memory and what HP website said but nothing, repair guy told me to flash bios but he had none so he returned my laptop and i joined this forum for help , rest you know

Hi sorry for being so dumb but compare which file

you mean virgin bios with old corrupted bios or the bios file which i will write using neo and opening same file in hex editor to confirm.

Write the 08217 ,read it back,compare what you read back with the 08217. Both should be exactly the same. If they are the same and still no boot then it is no longer a bios issue and the problem is somewhere else

Hi all

here are the results , something wrong with mobo STILL NO BOOT AND NO DISPLAY. i see backlight when i put torch at LED.

Both files were identical when compared
IC identified and detected correctly

capslock led disappeared for 5 sec then again appeared.
