how to determine ec and main bios chip

hi guys! I am new to this forum I need your help I just want to ask if how can i know the EC and MAIN bios chip in laptop motherboard? thanks in advance

small size is mostly ec and bigger is always main

main bios is located usually near pch chipset and ec near ec controller (kbc)...

the only sure way to determine roll of eeprom is to analyse content

different platforms and different vendors do it their way and there is no generic and universal rule... maybe it can be read from schematics

sometimes there are more 3 or even 4 on one board

For example these are two chips located on any motherboard 25Q64 and 25Q16 here the big value is 64 it is main and other is 16. it is Ec.
More examples 25L3206E will be main instead 25L080b because value 32 is equal to 4mb and value of 08 is 512kb so 1st is main and 2nd is Ec
