Lenovo G460 slow even in bios

Good day. I don't know where to start from but this laptop shows sluggish performance even in bios. Its like in slow motion. Hard drive is not the culprit because I have used good working ones. I also tried to boot off hiren's bcd without hard drive installed same situation.

It does not freeze or shutdown just in plain slow motion. Checked core voltage measures 1.2v stable. It has an i3-330m processor. I tried to use i3-350m but does not show display although its working on other board. What do you think guys? Thanks

I'll try to replace tantalum caps found underneath socket. I also observed that heatsink is very clogged. Haven't removed the board from case but tomorrow I'll try. Thanks ktm

you should first chek wich temp you achieve on the cpu area , use a good OMEGA temp reader, the most tin one is the more accurate put it right on the die , and use a termal pad , to avoid making to much pressue on the die , just make sure you dont force to much when screwing dont forget with a pad it will make more pressure , so screw like 2/3 . and chek temp you're getting .

Dont have that kind of device as of now. But I managed to get few readings from software which indicates 52c upon startup. These are based on hwinfo, hardwaremonitor and siw. Some say it maybe from damaged sensors. Better test with a known good processor to eliminate it as the problem. thanks high

            Sounds like corrupted BIOS .
I suggest you to flash the BIOS with original one, happened me at a Lenovo netbook and I fixed it with reflashing.

As other guys recommended check for CPU temp.
Faulty ram module can give same simptoms.
You can use memtest from bootable CD/USB and see

Have you done the obvious things - (clean out fan & heatsink, apply fresh thermal paste/pads to cpu & gpu, set bios to "setup defaults" or "fail safe")?

Also, if you disconnect everything (battery, hard drive, USB board, keyboard, wifi, bluetooth, DVD etc etc & all ram except one stick) - does it still run slow in bios? Check it with each individual ram stick.

My bet is the gpu is at fault. What temps does HWINFO give for gpu at startup?

I haven't fix the issue on this laptop. Got a lot of other boards to fix. I still got no go on bios file. If bios flash fail might as well be a gpu or sb, dont you think so?

                                  its a processor issue
did you test its processor in other main board ?
did you make sure the processor socket is clean ?
dose the main board work with any ram slot (single ram) ?

                                    I found out the issues:
1)CPU overheat: the fan finns clog very easily, remove the whole heat pipe assembly (by unscrewin around CPU & GPU), and thoroughly clean between the fins
                                    2) GPU overheat (causing CPU to run at half speed when GPU over 80C and killing the system above 100 or so): There was a f*@#$ silicon pad between GPU and heat pipe (grey soft thing),I believe it was there to adjust the height because GPU was too far for copper heatsink. THE FIX: carefully bend down the wings (while keeping pressure on the copper rivets so that the wings dont detach) that connect the GPU heatink to the screw hole so that when screwed the heatsink presses downward one milimeter further

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...

                                        Hello everyone,

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help

I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...
The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge
