    Thinkpad P52 20M9, 20MA Failed BIOS Update

    Type 20M9, 20MA
    S/N: PF15XWHP
    Mobo: NM-B562

    I'm attempting to revive an out of warranty Thinkpad P52 that failed a BIOS update last year. The update stalled for hours until it was manually shut down. Since then, power and keyboard lights come on briefly, but no display. Its diagnostic beep tune returns as 0285 "TCG-complient funcationality-related error (might be the TPM initialization failure)."

    I've just received a CH341A programmer and cleanly read the memory, but was unsuccessful at patching my own binary from Lenovo's iso. I got as far as extracting what I think is the correct BIOS section and comparing it with mine in HxD, but could not confidently merge them.

    Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

                  Hello everyone,

                  I need help repairing the original BIOS dump for a Lenovo ThinkPad P52.

                  Model: Lenovo ThinkPad P52

                  Motherboard: EP520 NM-B562 Rev 1.0

                  CPU/Chipset: Intel Xeon (CM246 / CNP-H)

                  Serial Number: PF1J6LUC

                  Flash: Macronix MX25L25673G (32MB)

                  Symptoms:

                  The laptop doesn't boot. The board draws about 36-40mA from the bench power supply and just hangs there. No fan spin, no logo, no response.

                  The original dump seems to be heavily corrupted. I tried to clean the ME region myself using Intel FIT (Corporate H profile) and rebuild the image, but it still refuses to post. I even replaced the SPI flash IC with a brand new one to rule out hardware degradation due to multiple soldering attempts, but the 40mA behavior remains exactly the same.

                  Could someone please take a look at my original dump and repair it, or provide a known working one for this specific Xeon configuration?

                      I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th gen that stopped booting after a failed BIOS update. There is no life from the machine when the power button is pressed, but when the charger is plugged in, the amber charging indicator turns on and the power button blinks three times.
