[Request] MSI GS66 Stealth 12UGS E16V5IMS.10F BIOS (intermediate bridge from 10A → 110)

Hi all,

I have an MSI Stealth GS66 12UGS (motherboard MS-16V5, MS-16V51) with factory
BIOS E16V5IMS.10A (system reports as E16V5IFB.10A, dated 2022-07-28).
Manufactured 2022-03-29, S/N K2205N0060771.

I'm trying to update to the latest E16V5IMS.110 (released 2025-09-12) which
I downloaded from MSI's official support page. The ZIP hash matches MSI's
published value (00524542d7a39d2e5072829358b6b8f631e835c34450f94c74cec88d02e548ab).

When I flash via UEFI Update BIOS / M-Flash, the system returns:
"ROM Image Version is invalid"
"ROM Image update denied"

Per MSI's release notes, BIOS 10F (2023-07-21) introduced "Enhanced security
protection against unauthorized BIOS updates," which my 10A doesn't recognize.
MSI has removed all intermediate versions from their public support page,
so I can't bridge through.

Could anyone share E16V5IMS.10F (or alternatively 10D / 10B)?

Any GS66 12U* variant's BIOS file should work since they share the MS-16V5
mainboard - 12UE, 12UG, 12UGS, 12UH, 12UHS are all compatible.

Just rename the link, it's still there hidden in MSI website

Note: EC update continues right after BIOS update. Screen will stay black with power LED light blinking.
Do not remove the AC power and wait until the system automatically reboots into Windows system.

Looks like you have a different "special" or "custom" variant of the laptop which doesn't use the regular BIOS from MSI website (maybe specific to one retailer/country)
E16V5IFB.10A which is different from E16V5IMS.10A, that's why the update fails

I could only find the same BIOS version you have E16V5IFB.10A at MSI website, by renaming the link, If I try to guess a newer version the page returns "not found"

If laptop is working fine, I suggest don't try to force a BIOS update meant for the "global" version

There is a E16V5IFB.10B update , if you want to install it i`d recommend that you make a bios backup first . Install by inf

Same issue here — MSI Stealth GS66 12UGS-246US, MS-16V5, current BIOS E16V5IFB.10A (2022), trying to flash E16V5IMS.110 from the official SKU-matched page. Hash matches MSI's published SHA-256.

Getting the same "ROM Image Version is invalid. ROM Image update denied."

Already tried: FAT32 USB with file in root, "Allow BIOS Downgrade" enabled, correct SKU page confirmed — no luck.

Chasing this to get the Windows UEFI CA 2023 Secure Boot cert applied (KB5025885) — 2022 firmware won't accept the write, so stuck with Secure Boot disabled for now.

Did OP or anyone else get a fix from MSI, or find a bridge version between IFB.10A and IMS.110 that flashes clean? Also haven't tried MSI Center Live Update yet — anyone confirm if that path works when manual M-Flash doesn't?

Hello everyone, I've been trying to repair my MSI gs66-stealth 12ugs laptop, It broke few days after i updated the BIOS however it could be anything since the motherboard is in poor shape and recently resoldered new keyboard connector. When i power it up the fans start spinning the cpu starts heating, no picture, keyboard doesnt light up the USB also doesnt work. When i push the powerbutton longer laptop restarts. While powered laptop draws around 1.2A. I've already tried reflashing BIOS. It didn't make any difference, i do not know if i have done it correctly. I asked chatgpt to merge a bios file with earlier bios version and mine so that the BIOS would be earlier but with all of the critical info that mine has but that didnt work and now i dont really know what to do please help.
