ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 1 bios

    Hello everyone,

I need help removing the supervisor password for a Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 1 laptop (10th Gen Intel).
    • Model: ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 1
    • MTM: 20SYS02J00
    • S/N: R90ZRW40

I have attached the ZIP file with the original, untouched dump.

Could someone please help me clean/patch this file?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi again,

Either the SVOD4 or the Vertyanov successor would work fine, just pick whichever one you're more comfortable with (watch a few YouTube videos beforehand)
Also, there's no need to solder wires. You can read the KBC directly through the keyboard connector after matching the pins correctly
    There's already a schematic available for you here > Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen1 / X13 Gen1 schematic - Badcaps
But I think that chip would auto-detect after plugging in the programmer left of the keyboard
Of course You'd need to Select Nuvoton, 1.8V, 256KB and read ID

Hi, the password is rather stored inside the EC/SIO chip (NPCE388?)

        Hi sparo,

Thanks for the warning! Yes, the dump I uploaded is the main 32MB BIOS, but now I see that the password is completely locked inside the Nuvoton NPCE388 EC chip.

Since I want to do this repair myself and expand my workshop tools, I would really appreciate your advice. Which EC programmer do you recommend buying for reading/writing these types of Nuvoton chips (Vertyanov JIG, SVOD4, RT809H, or something else)?

Also, what is the best way to connect to this NPCE388 chip on the X13 Yoga Gen 1 motherboard? Do you read it directly via the keyboard connector (JTAG/KBC), or does it require direct soldering to the chip pins?

Any advice on the programmer and the unlocking workflow for this generation of ThinkPads would be amazing. Thank you for your time!

                  Your dump is corrupted.
Try to read two or three times (or more times) until at least two readings have the same CRC.
There are plenty of free online CRC calculators or install 7-Zip free and you will have CRC calculator in Right-Click menu.

                              Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...

I'm seeking information, advice, or fix for a BIOS upgrade that is always failing on a Thinkpad X12 Detachable Gen 1 (Wistron 19835-1). The failure is indicated as "An unexpected error has occurred, and the process did not complete." as shown in (1) whenever I try upgrading the BIOS via the provided official BIOS bootable CD or BIOS Utility (Windows) update releases, practically EVERY version released for this unit as can be downloaded in (2). I acquired the unit as second hand, and the sticker labels like the CPU/Manufacturer logos and even the factory labels...

Hi everyone, hope everyone's having a great day.

                              I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 3 for repair. (20LES3T900)
I looked in every corner and the laptop seems fine. Its pulling 500mA but no display, no noise, nothing.

So I assume its a BIOS issue. I downloaded the BIOS with CH341A and opened it on ME Analyser and didn't receive any errors.
Does this mean the BIOS is fine? making it a hardware issue?

I downloaded fresh BIIOS from the Lenovo site and used Hex Editor replace the Lenovo's BIOS into my BIOS region. But the file size ended up being...
