Hi,
I made a post here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-damage-repair discussing my attempts at repairing a water damaged G15 G532LWS computer. I'm currently at the stage where I believe the CPU core may have internal damage which causes any OS boot to fail except memtest86. I own another desktop computer which has similar behaviour with a dead core that causes boot freezes or bluescreens. I managed to fix that system by disabling that bad core and running the system as a 7c/14t instead of a 8c/16t. I would like to try something similar or atleast be able to selectively diagnose the CPU fault.
I know for desktop operating systems from ASUS have the ability to disable cores as seen below. I've tried in the past but I don't have the experience or know how to unlock hidden features if it even exists for the laptop BIOS. I don't think there's any issues with the BIOS & ME, as the CPU lets me boot into BIOS, read USB, SSD and I managed to update it to version 314. Memtest86 passed all tests but I'm pretty sure it says everything passes unless there's actual faults with the RAM, atleast that's my experience with my previous dead core computer.
