Device Information:
- Model: Acer Aspire 3 A315-22G
- Motherboard: NB8607G02-MB (Compal LA-J761P)

Problem:
- BIOS is password protected (Supervisor Password)
- Boot from USB is disabled in BIOS
- After 3 wrong password attempts, system shows Unlock Key Hint

I’m working on a small technical challenge and could really use some guidance from people more experienced in BIOS/EEPROM work 🙂

I picked up a old rugged laptop (Getac S410) for $50 at a garage sale. The seller warned me it was locked with a BIOS password (prompt appears immediately at power-on, before any BIOS/UEFI access).

My end goal is to turn this machine into a dedicated automotive diagnostic PC, so I’m trying to unlock it rather than scrap it.

I need help unlocking the BIOS password on my LG All-in-One 22V240.
Model: LG All-in-One 22V240
Background: I received this PC as a gift when I was a child. I left
it unused for years after upgrading to a better machine. Now I want
to give it a new life by installing Linux, but I cannot format it
because of this BIOS password lock. I have no idea who set the

After updating the BIOS, I lost access to BIOS Setup due to a Supervisor Password lock. The machine itself is completely healthy.

• Windows boots normally.
• Zorin Linux boots normally.
• F12 boot menu works.
• Only BIOS Setup access is locked.

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop.
