    BIOS/ME Region Help - ASUS F556UJ (Motherboard X556UJ_MB REV 2.0) - Hangs at 0.33A - RAM Communication Error

    Hi everyone,

I am requesting help with a BIOS/ME Region issue on an ASUS laptop. I have followed the "BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools" provided in the forum, specifically trying to clean the ME Region and updating the BIOS region to version 413, but I haven't been able to succeed, i've tried to download a the same ME Region v11.0.0.1180_COR_LP_C_NPDM_PRD_RGN.bin but not able to fit it since it is bigger than the actual size from the ME region of my chip.

    System Details:
    • Make: ASUS
    • Full Model: F556UJ-XO015T (Mainboard X556UJ_MB REV 2.0)
    • Serial Number: G2N0CV09E08607F
    • Board Model: X556UJ_MB REV 2.0
    • CPU: Intel Core i7-6500U (Skylake)
    • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 920M
    My current BIOS is:
    ASUS F556UJ_bad_backup.zip

The symtomps that i have is that the device is looping in the detection phase with a 0.33Amp of consume, later at 1-2 min, a light code appears with a 2 error light, and the screen was not able to initialize neither

Hi, I'm a bit confused why you didn't succeed. Here are all the tools you need
I'm also sending you the file with the CSME region already cleaned so you can compare your result with it
Give feedback if it doesn't work, then maybe you need something other than just the cleaned CSME region (possibly the full BIOS instead)

I was using the FITool to read the whole bios extracted, i did download the whole repo of CSME11.0 repo r55 from winraid, and the most crucial step (Selecting the correct ME Region, i did select all the time the 11.0.0.1180_COR_LP_C_NPDM_PRD_RGN.bin instead of the CON... My fault Sparo i've spent more than 2h on this topic, even trying to edit the hex of the regions, and now i see that they match perfectly!

Sadly, i got an ERROR 1 (It's not ERROR 2) anymore, so i think it worked pretty much!

        Thanks again!

Oh, I see and yes, even a single letter can make that much difference when dealing with CSME/CSTXE regions. That's exactly why I didn't want to just clean the region for you
Instead, I gave you the tools so you could understand what went wrong. I'm Glad I could help And You’re welcome!
