    bios request/fixing dump HP elitebook 840 G6

Hi i received a HP elitebook G6 that had a The HP Endpoint Security Controller error when booted but 3 enters later you could use it in windows, i thought maybe a bios update helps...... i used the HP tool (it did not want to update from device manager,,, someting i did not even knew worked) after the update it bricked the laptop.

i get 7 blinks on the capslock and thats it. i desoldered the chips front and back. and made a dump. i tried one bios posted here for the 16M and the 32Mb bios.. but it would not turn on or give an error code. so now i reflashed it back in its failed state (to confirm i can resolder them and the reader programmer works, and i did not screw up more in the meanwhike , ofcourse that remains to be seen) after the hp bios update. and the dump i post here. hope someone can help me out, i am new to this but would love to learn more and hopefully get this laptop back from the dead. even with security error.

by the way i used a CH341 programmer, with the switch to sellect voltages 3.3 in this case. for what its worth

oh thank you, i did use another one before i went back to the failed one, it had the 16MB and the 32MB, Orig+R70_010600 also from this forum. that one only gave me solid yellow on the power led, and nothing more.

ill give it a try, if it does not work i have some more soldering under my belt

thank you for your help and i wikll report back!

Well if that's the case then flash only this 32MB file first
If it doesn't work, flash the 32MB file from the link I gave you. If it still doesn't work then flash the 16MB chip as well

oh i flashed both... but now i get the solid yellow again.. problem is i then start doubting my own soldering skills... a resolder them a few times. but remains few blinks white then solid yellow

resoldering them and the software stuff makes it rather hard, i keep asking myself if i might made a mistake in soldering... untill i solder them to the read out board witch works every time.

Yes You need to check the soldering and make sure all pads are properly seated
You can also solder only wires between the chip and the programmer if WSON8 soldering gives you a hard time although that's the easier route
I still recommend practicing proper soldering I believe that's the best way to learn

yeah i was thinking about that. but it only works for the chip on the backside the 32Mb one. the other one has there pads under its chip without anything exposed i did order a clam that should be able to do Wson.. to bad this laptopm uses 2 sizes...

Well You can also buy and use WSON8 probes, Google them (WSON 5x6 for 5x6 chips and WSON 8x6 for 8x6 chips) That way no soldering is required at all
However for every chip read You should make 2โ€“3 backups and compare them to be identical before writing the chip. This way you know you've made a good read using the probe
Your motherboard model is CRESCENT-6050A3022501-MB-A01(A1), right? The one you posted is wrong (12/13 SPSL62760-601)

hmm i will look up those probes since soldering them everytime is not ideal i think thank you for all the help by the way !!

The motherboard name or id not sure how you call it, i posted is from the sticker in one of the ram slots... so what i think might have happened.... is the backplate might not be from this system. thats all i can think off. might explain why its not working either... but then i should go by the motherboard sticker i asume ? and ignore the maybe faulty backplate with serial number and model number ? what is the best way to go forward? i can explain why this might be the thing. i aksed a person that works at a refurbish company and they do not do board repairs i did more with electronics and loved to give it a go (not for them, i bought 3 broken laptops), and even if 1/3 worked i would be happy and i can practice a bit. so it might be they put on the wrong back cover on the left overs.... im sorry i might have fed you the wrong information if thats correct. it was not my intention (i do not like to redo things 15 times either)

any idea of what information you need ignoring the backplate, or can i get the the serial number from within the corrupt bios maybe ? so we can see what the actual model number was/is, i mean the sticker does not lie on the motherboard. i asume the backcover might be wrong

Don't worry about the serial number You already posted the one on the cover that should be enough
The motherboard model number is actually printed directly on the motherboard itself. You just need to look closely around the board. Here's an example

you where spot on ! also ordered some of those probes see how that works. would save allot of time if it worked.

by the way now knowing the correct motherboard, should i try another bios ? maybe this one cant be saved anymore but i give it a few more tries for sure,. i dont like waste

Yeah sure you can try again if you want, try these donor files from the internet
They are reported to be tested and working for that exact motherboard just like the ones I sent you earlier
I also attached a second combination since you mentioned the motherboard comes from a refurbishing company so might try it as well. Good Luck!

                            by Habble7
The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.

I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

Hi, I look for an original BIOS dump from a GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard. It must be a BIOS dump made from a real motherboard, not a stock Gigabyte BIOS download. There is apparently some major difference between a real BIOS image compared to a stock BIOS, as this motherboard does not start at all with a stock BIOS image. The board owner unfortunately did not make a backup from the original BIOS image, so now I have a bricked motherboard which does not want to start POST-ing at all. Although it powers on, but there are no debug codes showing, debug code display is dark, as well...

I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...
