IdeaPad Gaming 3 16IAH7 BIOS Issue / GPU Not Detected

    Bu: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/tr/tr/p...065tx/mp2br7d9

    Hello everyone,

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 16IAH7. When the device first arrived, there was no display at all.
I had the BIOS cleaned, but the issue was not resolved and there was still no image.

Later, I flashed a different BIOS dump from the same model. With this BIOS, the device boots and display works, but the GPU is not detected in the BIOS (RTX 3060 is missing).

After that, I tried to update the BIOS using the official Lenovo BIOS from their website, but it failed with a: “BIOS is incompatible” error.

Because of this, I believe the currently flashed dump BIOS is not from the exact same hardware configuration.

    My questions are:
    • Is it possible to modify this dump BIOS to match an RTX 3060 6GB configuration?
    • Or could the initial BIOS clean process have been done incorrectly (vinafix, etc.)?
    • I couldn’t find a proper cleaned BIOS / ME firmware for this model on the win-raid forum.
    • Is there anyone here who can properly clean and rebuild the BIOS for this model?

I have attached to this thread:
    • Original Main BIOS
    • Original EC BIOS
    • Alternative BIOS dump (boots but does not detect GPU)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Try, BIOS extracted from Lenovo website, DMI + Win key inserted

        IdeaPad Gaming 3 16IAH7 - Type 82SA

        BIOS ver. JMCN42WW
        S/N MP2BR7D9
        MTM 82SA0065TX
        DMI 1000000-101FFFF
        Win key 10AF000-10AF03F

The "ec.zip" is NVIDIA VBIOS for RTX 3060 Mobile PCI ID 10DE-2520 Subsystem 17AA-3AF6, it's good, matches one from techpowerup

Hello, thank you very much for your help.

I flashed the BIOS you provided and the laptop boots нормально now, the issue is solved.

However, you mentioned that I still need to insert DMI information and the Windows OEM key.

          My question is:

How can I restore/write the DMI data and Windows key back into the BIOS?
Which tools/software should I use for this model?

I need to restore fields such as:
          • Serial Number (S/N)
          • MTM / Model Type
          • UUID
          • Windows Product Key (OEM)

Could you please guide me step by step?

          Thank you again.

He has added the DMI for you already, go into the bios settings you should see the serial number and model .

Read BIOS chip again, main BIOS is 32MB, select correct chip model in your programmer software

The "EC" as you name it, is the NVIDIA VBIOS for RTX 3060 Mobile PCI ID 10DE-2520 Subsystem 17AA-3AF6, it's good, don't touch it (exact match with the VBIOS from Deniz, post 1)

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
                by Bloodhoundje
                Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                by grimacelord
                Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...
