    Asus X1503ZA

    Dear forum members,

This is my first post here, I am searching for a bios dump for an Asus X1503ZA.

Laptop responds to power button but shuts down after 3-4 seconds. I have measured all voltages and seem to be present, when I power on, the 3.3V apear on pin 8 of the bios chip (GigaDevice 25R128E).

    No post, no image, nothing.

I have made a dump of the chip, I attach it here also.

My impresion is that the firmware is corrupted and I am searching for a dump of the chip for this model.

    Best regards,
    Adrian

Type the 15 digit laptop serial number, motherboard model.
      read the forum rules..https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...before-posting

Also, post a picture of the barcode sticker or QR code on the motherboard, or scan the QR code and post what it says

Thank you for the bios file, tried it, unfortunately does not work. The computer, with or without battery attached, responds to power button, the white power on led light up for a couple of secconds and then shuts down. The amber battery led lights up (with or without the battery attached) and stays on a couple of secconds after the laptop shuts down by itself, no post, no display...

I will take out the board to check all the power lines, probably there is a short somewhere, don't know what is on the other side of the board, on the up face there is no obvious evidence, but... will see.

If there are suggestions, I am happy to take them into consideration.

            Thanks

Well, just put the laptop under thermal camera, without removing the motherboard. Because nothing was overheating I decided to press the power button multiple times, to not let the laptop shutdown, maybe I can see something under the thermal camera.... and.... what do you know.... laptop started, went into bios...

I am using it for 2 hours now and everything seems ok... what happend exactly I cannot explain

                Perhaps a faulty power button?

Not the case as the laptop started everytime on first press, to stop immediately, a sticky button cannot be the cause, faulty, sure not

EDIT: Speculation, the EC chip got corrupted in some sort of a way (the problem appeared after I changed the LVDS cable as I had screen problems, in fact the LVDS cable was torn apart near the hinge)

EC read the power button, started system but beeing corupted, stopped. I did reflash te bios with the file above, tried to start multiple times with the new bios but nothing changed in the behaviour of the laptop as EC reflash could not be triggered because the laptop shut down too quickly. As I insisted with pressing the power button, the system did not shut down and triggered the update, as I had 206 version before and the reflashed bios is 306, maybe it is bundled together with the EC flash.... This is my best guess, I may be halucinating but.. I cannot find other answer, as the laptop is working for some hours now, with multiple resets, shut down, with or without charger.... as nothing ever happened.

Even before when it was not starting, on the side of the mainboard that could be visible (I don't know if there is something else on the other side as I did not take the board out) all the voltages were right, arrived at the voltage for RAM and my findings were that the signal for the gate of the mosfet responsabile was not coming when starting the pc, that is what made me think that there is a firmware problem (not to exclude something down that route in short, clearly no short as everything is fine now)

EVEN LATER EDIT: this was killing me so went investigating, I have attached the photo in first post with the Bios 206 when it worked in the past

on bios 206 it was EC Version: F00A2404.306
on bios 306 it is EC Version: F00A26C4.30B

This is solved now and I can sleep

ASUS ZenBook UX480F : need help with cleaning the ME region of my BIOS dump
                    by mkdj
                    Dear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:

I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.

I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...

[REQUEST] ASUS TUF A15 FA506NF (2021) - Clean BIOS dump needed (UEFI Password locked)
                    by ArkzG
Hey guys, I have an "ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NF (2021)" that's locked with a UEFI password, I need to reprogram the BIOS chip but can't find a clean ".bin" file for this specific model, I've tried the official BIOS updates from ASUS support page, but they're 32MB updaters that don't extract to a usable 2MB .bin file for direct chip programming.

                    What I currently have available:
                    - Model: FA506NF (2021)
                    - BIOS chip: GD25LQ16 (16Mbit/2MB)
                    - Tools: CH341A programmer ready to use

Does anyone have either a clean 2MB .bin dump of this model,...

Request BIOS dump for ASUS FA617NS
                    by kcp0085
Aloha, I'm trying to recover my ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (FA617NS-A16.R77600)
I have the CH341A programmer and can flash the BIOS chip directly. I need a verified full .bin dump (2MB or full SPI region) for this specific model.

                    Specs:
                    - ASUS TUF FA617NS-A16
                    - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7
                    - BIOS chip: Winbond W25Q16JVSIQ (2MB)

If anyone has a full dump or can share from a working unit, it would be hugely appreciated.

                    Thanks in advance!
