Thank you! It didn't fix my issue. Now the laptop turns on, and stays on (power light stays lit, RGB keyboard cycles through colors), but still no display. CPU/GPU do not get hot. No fans spin. Thoughts?Leave a comment:

I have soldered wires to the chip. Are you saying that my current connection to the chip is bad? I've been using AsProgrammer and it has been detecting and working with the chip fine, as far as I can tell.
The bios must be in ".bin" format and archived with winrar or 7zip...
The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..
you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

The bios must be in ".bin" format and archived with winrar or 7zip...Sorry, I was trying to find an edit for my main post, but I will add the relevant data here...
I was unable to get anywhere with BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools because ... one of the steps is to use ME Analyzer to get proper firmware file - ME Analyzer comes up with CSE ME 16.1.32.2418 which is not available in the repository.
Machine model number: G8347JY-XS97
Serial number: R8NRKD008963339
Board model number: G634J-PMV-VGT (6050A3441302-MB-A01)
No display. Laptop turns on for 1 minute then reboots (and repeats). No noise except fans. Attempting to flash BIOS in hopes it resolves the issue.
dump file split because of upload limits

You MUST:I'm trying to flash the bios chip but all the files on the asus website end in a 3 digit bios number. I'm not sure how to convert/trim/extract from these files to a file I can load with AsProgrammer to write to the chip.

latest version 331 or oldest 317 would be great. thanks!
https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-...helpdesk_bios/- Read BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools
- Try the method at BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools before requesting help
- Explain you were not able to succeed with the methods at BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools
- Use search function in case someone already answered your request
- Post under a related thread if it exists
- Provide the full machine model number, serial number (or Service tag, SNID) and the board model number (see https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88758 ) ,The serial number, make, full model number, motherboard model and revision (except QR codes) must be written/typed at your request as per the rules. Not as a picture, part of the file name and so on.
- Name your thread with make, full model numbers and request
- Provide a BIOS/EC dump if possible
- Attach files directly to your post instead of linking to external websites
- Post what the problem is, be specific - black screen, no boot, running slow, password. Do NOT post "clean me", "clear bios", "clean bios", "fix bios", "bios need" or other such terms

by ronaldopdiasI’m troubleshooting an ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming WiFi motherboard and I’m a bit stuck at the BIOS level. What I’ve tried so far
- Attempted to flash the BIOS using the USB BIOS FlashBack (Q-Flash) port with a properly formatted FAT32 USB drive.
- BIOS file downloaded directly from the official ASUS support page.
- Followed the exact FlashBack procedure (correct port, renamed file, standby power only).
Issue:
The FlashBack LED does not blink at all — no activity whatsoever. Further investigation
Because FlashBack didn’t work, I:- Removed the BIOS SPI IC from

by razor_amdWith ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.
For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.
I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.
This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...-

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-

by grimacelordHello,
I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.
I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.
The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.
Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...-

Power button works okay....power light goes on
Red "bottom" leds go on
Charging led works
Fans do not spin, capslock key does nothing, screen stays black
I would like to program the bios again, to rule out a corrupted bios.
However I run into a size error
The bios chip is a Winbond 25R256JVEN
Used my Xgecu T-48 to read the bioschip (using select chip as type XM25QH256B @WSON8, read somewhere...-
