Is the bios corrupted, or is the bios chip broken?

Hi, I have the same motherboard with a BIOS issue, but someone has probably replaced the chip in the past, and I need the correct type. Could you please send me the chip type? Thanks

It's the exact same as the original poster has.
                DAG3PBMB8A0 REV:A
                MODEL: G3PB
from HP VICTUS 15 fa1088nf with serial number 5CD429734N

The BIOS got corrupted, but I had no luck programming the current chip (when I got the laptop, there was flux around it; I bought it with a corrupted BIOS to fix)
And from what I found, these are supposed to have some 256 Winbond chips, but mine has a 128 GigaDevice chip. So I need the type of memory that's supposed to be on the board so that I can buy it and replace the one that's currently on there.

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
                  by Bloodhoundje
                  Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                  by grimacelord
                  Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

                  🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
                  by macabook
                  Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                  🧩 Initial Issue
                  • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                  • External display (HDMI) shows
                  ...
