It didn't work, the password is still there. I've already tried two different BIN files from other forums, and the machine simply ignores them. It says that "sure start" has restored the BIOS. I've tried both the main BIOS and the EC BIOS, which leads me to believe that the password for this PC is stored in the Nuvoton chipComment

Hello everyone, I have a problem I don't know how to solve and I would appreciate your help. First, I received a laptop that another repair shop tried to remove the BIOS password from, but now only the orange LED flashes. The other problem I have is with the main chip, a GD25LB256E, which my programmer, a TL866II Plus, doesn't recognize. I would like to know if there is any way to read it with this programmer so I can upload the backup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Comment

Hello everyone, I have a problem with this laptop that I received from another repair shop. The amber LED is blinking. Upon inspection, I see the problem is related to the BIOS. This BIOS was tampered with, and I have doubts about the EC chip file. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I've try it, but get the same issue.
No FAN, no POST, CPU a bit warm.
VerrNum LED is ON, then OFF, CAPSLOCK blink 2 short, then back to VerrNum ON, then OFF, then CAPSLOCK blink x2 again.

Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

I have read the BIOS chip twice using a CH341A and a WSON8 probe. Both reads match exactly, so I believe the dump is reliable.

I’m hoping someone can help me locate a verified original BIOS dump for my Acer laptop.
This is NOT a BIOS password removal request.
I’m looking for an original 32MB SPI BIOS dump to use as a reference in case my BIOS firmware is corrupted. My plan is to first dump and back up my own BIOS as soon as my programmer arrives. I am not planning to blindly flash someone else’s BIOS.

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...
