ok, as almost all the time, i have a friend hp with no screen problem. i see it has a intel i3, and ati gpu. after open it it had lot lot of dust. cleaned it all, cleaned also board with ipa as always. plugged some cable, power on and pc just started telling me it has no wifi and no cmos battery. i turned it off (removing ac power cable instead of powering it off by botton). reassembled and then pc just do nothing on pressing power botton. after try a bios reflash as shown here

but i think bios rom was too big. now pc start with fan at max speed, but no post. it power off after some times. and when i repower on it keep on but no post and fan stop after a time even if it get hot.

does anyone got a bios dump ?

do i need a bios dump from you guys because vendors didnt make them public on their site?

edit: just pluged in keyboard and caps lock keep blinking. ram coil has 1.5volt.

reballed vga and still the exact same problem :S

edit: all voltage are present at coil....

I only got a g62 amd but you can take it from hp!
the exe file then go with 7zip and right click on it and chose open archive.

tnx for reply. as the attached picture ive gone to hp site, downloaded and extracted. then with a usb programmer, i desoldered bios chip, and flahed like whown in the picture, but somewhere i read that i need a proper bios dump file to program some kind of bios chip, as mine in the image told me it was bigger then 4mb space.

how ever before doind that pc wont even turn on. now turn on... and after some 20 seconds it tutn off, then on again but no screen. tried a reball of the vga but still nothing.

if the file its bigger then its not the same!
I did a few weeks ago a cq and there still is the post around here.
nvm I use the file from hp; the only down side is that it got no serial.

tnx, as far now pc power on fan and led blink, my bios is ok.

just i dont hear hard disk spin, so can be the ec chip that need to flash too ?

what size do you have on bios?2,4?
do you got another chip like that with 512kb?

bios chip is 4mb. yes it has another rom for ec chip.

ok, flashed ec file (i suppose is for power light indicator and some staff like that maybe already working) and laptop do exactly the same

strange thing is that if i remove ram... it do still the same.

the not good positioned resistor up vga chip is now ok.

the last thing to do is try a sb reball.

the strange thing is that notebook started ok once. after cleaning with ipa and mount it again wont start annymore.

maybe some bad solder joint....

you know what I did with mine?
I got it from ebay with 29£ it said no display. ofc I did power up.
I let run for 20 min hten I shutdown and start it back instant
guess what? it started hp logo bla bla bla .
block the vent system and let run for 15 min or do soft reflow
maybe maybe

i read that too. and when pc start (with fan at max speed) it shut down after about 20-30 seconds. then it power on again with fan at max speed too and after 1 min or so, fan turn off but pc still on and start getting hot.

someone told that must be some solder joint behind ram and cpu...

here some talk about bad solder on mainboard, some that is vga problem... but if it's vga problem then my reball has gone bad ?

edit: tryed that toast and didnt work. reballing for the second time gpu...

in the diagram, on page 30 i see installed and not installed discrete gpu. the one with not discrete has different resistor respect the dedicated one. could i try disable dedicated gpu ?

your testing the board with only the heatsink on and with vga cable to monitor?
or internal lcd of the notebook?
check both maybe maybe
got this problem like 5 days ago and reflow for nothing because a stupid lcd cable.
and a idiot friend told me to reflow a Compaq because he said No display.
I did and it turn out to be a bad memory .

i tested with vga cable but the same, caps lock was blinking continuosly. as the unique said im going to reball the northbridge. i removed it yesterday, but then i spot that i need 0.35mm balls that i dont have (have 0.45, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.76). just bought them from uk

PS: just did a try with solder paste, but cant do so much with it
