Would it not be easier to flash a new, clean BIOS? I am not sure if you did this dump within an OS, IC or removed from the board but assuming you can flash it, download a BIOS for your laptop.

Hi, the laptop which had a failed bios update and not refuses to boot. Pressing power button, the keyboard lights up for a second and that's it. There is no fan spin, no signs of boot.

The laptop was running windows and linux dual-boot, Before this happened, there was another bios update, that was giving issues as well, laptop went starting up started doing auto bios recovery almost every time, flashing an older version of bios via bios recovery seemed to fix that issue but the auto recovery issue came back in a week. And with another failed update, it refuses to boot.

I have attached the bios below.

                Any help is much appreciated.

Its perfect, works great. Thank you so much. Would this also fix the auto bios recovery that was triggering on laptop boot before , or is that related to some separate issue.

This message related to the BIOS appears every time the system is started.
The keyboard and touchpad do not work in the BIOS, but they function correctly in the operating system. Click image for larger version

The laptop boots fine - specific keys still do not work - namely - qweruiop . It autoflashed and updated to 1.27 . i disabled uefi bios updates in bios and flashed your firmware again. Rebooted the laptop and Firmware Update started again and failed and windows turned on, restarted again and firmware update started again(updaing system bios with bios guard), bios updated again and windows loads up, keyboard was working fine before these bios issues, so its not hardware issue . I also tested the keyboard in the bios after i have just flashed the file you provided and the specified keys dont work.

                                Thanks again for your help

I read the bios again and am attaching it here.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                        Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell Latitude 5530 BIOS Password Removal Attempted but I Broke the Laptop

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

Dell Inspiron 5775 bios locked "Unlock Setup fail"

After generating the Password Recovery code, I go to the “Security” tab - “Locked Settings” - it says “Unlock Settings? I tried many wrong passwords and it shows an error to unlock settings [ Press any key ].
                                        What I did:
                                        I read the bios dump.
Downloaded the bios update to 1.6.0 from the official Dell website, extracted the dump from it, updated the bios, but the problem persisted. Please help me to solve the problem....
