Hi! I just bumped to this thread looking for answers on how to remove my Dell Latitude 5420 BIOS password. I am quite confused on how to do it. I can see that there's a patcher. I already saw a video how to use it.
    From my understanding:
    1. You just need to drag the "file" to the patcher
    2. Patcher will do its trick
    3. Patcher done its work

    Where am I confused:
    1. Where could I get the file?
    2. On the video provided, didn't saw the password.
    3. Do i need to open the laptop? Because in my case, I can't open the laptop since it was from an organization. My problem is that, I need to complete reset/reimage the laptop, but it won't let me do it since the BIOS is locked. "Reset this PC" option doesn't work on my end for unknown reasons.

EDIT: Here are the infos for my laptop:
    Model: Dell Latitude 5420
    Service tag: 7JFJPN3-8FC8

Any help would be much appreciated! I only need to unlock the BIOS so I can boot from USB.

Hi, just to confirm - before I mess anything up - is this patch for unlocking the BIOS Admin Password, as shown in the attached photo? Thanks

I would like to use the patcher app on Precision 3550 to clean the BIOS password.
I can access the BIOS but can't change the settings: Absolute is set to enabled.
I moved an nvme SSD with W11pro installed and finished the install from the
Precision 3550. I looked for typical files installed by an active Absolute service:
none, so maybe it might not have been activated.

              (Precision 3550, Motherboard: LA-J451P, ServiceTag: 5ZQNK63-8FC8)
Well, before the patcher/Absolute I don't know exactly which one is the BIOS,
              therefore my question:
Which one is the BIOS main chip? (take a look at the images attached)
              A: sop8, 1MB GigaDevice GD25Q80CSIG
              B: sop8, 1MB GigaDevice GD25Q80CSIG
              C: wson8, 32MB XMC QH256BXIQ
or there is another chip on the motherboard that is the main BIOS chip?

I clamped both A and B chips, took some readings. 1MB each, compared them and they
are different. I am almost sure main BIOS is the 32MB chip: C (wson8 XMC QH256BXIQ)
I have to desolder chip C and, on the other face there are some small electronic parts
that I am concerned with while reflowing.
(I am new at working with a hot air reflow station so maybe some of you which are
highly skilled would be nice to share some tips/tricks about desoldering when there
are some parts on the other face in order to protect them from accidental overheating.
I have plenty of old boards to practice...)
Many thanks for reading my post and for your advice.

the bios is the one with 256...try removing the chip on other boards...find a video on the internet...if you are careful the pieces on the other side won't come off...
re is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

Desoldered the 32MB chip, took multiple readings, did the patch, wrote patch on
chip, took a reading of patched chip and compared it with the original patch.
All good. Soldered back the chip. The small parts from the back side looks good,
soldering looks good. I have 2 cheap programmers (EXP 2023+ and CH34 v1.7 blue)
and readings were done with both of them.

Put back all parts. Plugged battery. Used verified RAM. Verified all things connected
the right way. Power button works good. Plugged in Dell 180W power supply unit.
1st: Without pressing the power button laptop turned on when I plugged PSU, keyboard
illuminated, power LED is white, no Dell logo, fan is spinning, turned off by itself
in 10-12 seconds. I was expecting to reboot by itself... nothing, power LED off.
2nd: Press power button, the power LED is amber for an instant then is off. As long
the power button is pressed the power LED is amber.

                    Precision 3550, Motherboard: LA-J451P Rev:1.0(A00), ServiceTag: 5ZQNK63-8FC8
Here is the BIOS backup + my patched/written file. I would appreciate if you make
a working patch so I can try again.
                    Thank you.

I tried to download the patcher, but every time I click on the file to download it, I get a "Invalid File Specified" message on a blank page. I tried to access it from an incognito window to rule out browser cache, but got the same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                                            Hey, i bought a Dell Optiplex 5000 8fc8 with chip W25Q128JVSN.
I also used the CH341A programmer but my usb cable (i didnt attach it directly into the pc, i used a cable between) was corrupted. So i made a dump. Then i removed the password but unfortunately the dump had a loose contact so it was corrupted. And i've also overwrited the chip and now i dont have any dump anymore.

Can someone help me? I am stuck since hours and i cannot find any bin file anywhere.
I tried to extract the EXE for BIOS installation from dell and also the rcv file but i didn't manage to do that....

                                            by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Dell Latitude 5410 - Stuck at "Dell Security Manager" - 8FC8
                                            by aquanutz
Does anyone have experience in generating the master bios password for Dell Latitude 5410 with the 8FC8 tag?

                                            #63PR273-8FC8

Can't actually boot the laptop to dump the bios, it immediately goes to the "Dell Security Manager" screen asking for a password.

                                            Any help is greatly apprecaited.
