Hello. I have EliteMini 600 G9 with incorrect DMI data (replaced motherboard).
is it possible to make the bios backup without using software, patch it and flash it back with software? OR do i need to make full BIOS dump with a programmer to be able to edit it and flash back with a programmer?

i did all that still password on

The scripts only work with old bios versions , won`t work with newer G9 bios versions , won`t work with G10 or G11 models.

Hi You have to post the Serial Number with every single request (As per the Forum rules)

Also, explain the issue with the machine is. Why are you running all these scripts? BIOS Password?

You need to run the script on the full SPI image using an external SPI programmer
Running it only on the BIOS region that was dumped with software will not work

Thanks so much for this. I am having difficulty with the instructions afterwards though, and I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. So, after dumping my bios, running the script on it, and loading it back onto my chip, I was able to get into the bios. Upon startup, it says "System is booting in manufacterer mode". I'm in the BIOS now, but the DMI instructions I'm not understanding. I apologize for the trouble, but what comes next exactly? Thanks again!

Hi flash back your original MAIN BIOS file (The one before patching)
If it still doesn't work then post it along with the Serial Number of the machine

I had to have missed something. So I dump the bios with a password on it, patch the bin, then erase the chip, write the patched bios on it, boot into bios, reset to defaults and save, then I erase the chip again and write the original bios, the unpatched one with a password, back on the laptop? Sorry, I just feel like I have half the instructions lol. Am I missing some info that's described here - ?

Yes, write back the original BIOS file "with a password" (this may work depending on the model)
If it doesn't work, post that original file and I'll extract DMI for you to fill using BCU (stickers don't contain all)

So, for this model, you can either rewrite the BIOS without the password (patched using the script) and then fill in these DMI using BCU
Or leave the BIOS chip as it is and instead unlock the EC chip on the backside of the motherboard

P.S: Normally you should've posted the SN as instructed, but I'm posting all DMI anyway

Yes, use the one that unlocked the laptop with the message on startup: "System is booting in manufacturer mode"
That way, you can use BCU to fill in the DMI information, and then lock Manufacturer Mode afterward

I'm gonna lose my damn mind dude lol. Now, after putting the unlocked bin back on there (twice to double-check), I don't get the manufacturer mode anymore. It goes straight into AMT Disabling, then if I try to go into BIOS I get hit with the password again. If I take it apart and get the 16mb bin, will the 32mb chip still have the password on it? How will I handle this chip? Also, I'm not sure I'm running your script right. It runs, and then stops, but I don't know if it found what it was looking for, or if the necessary replacements have been made or anything.

When I run the full script, following the first instructions in the post, it loads through 4 times (I'm assuming it's going through the scripts one by one), then stops at this screen. At that point, I clicked save as, and saved a copy. Then used hxd to ensure that the original locked and the new one I just saved, are different. Then I erase the chip, verify, load the unlocked script, write and verify again. What's my best course of action here? Sorry for the questions. I'm not at all opposed to someone just doing it for me by uploading the bin file, but I want to be able to do this stuff myself. I buy used laptops frequently, and I don't want to have to bug you guys each time I need something unlocked lol


EDIT: I'm also trying another tool "HPUnlocker.py". I'll see how that goes. RCUnlocker didn't work because it's a 32mb chip

You can actually use RCUnlocker even on 32MB chips
