    HP 17-CN0130NG / 17N-6L-GNL BIOS Request

    Hi,

    need a bios for this board.

    went to the HP Support website and downloaded the bios, extracted it and tried to flash with an SPI programmer.

    It won’t work because the bios file offered from HP is 16MB and the winbond 25qxx only has 8MB storage space.

    The problem is that the customer stated he powered on and all of the sudden it asks for an bios password.

      post the S/N, the original bios of the laptop, the motherboard model, etc.

          The latest update sp154459.exe contains 6 different bios images

          AMI bios images 0883A,0883C,089B7 all 16MB .Insyde bios images 0883E 8MB , 08840 16MB

              Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
              With original bios no POST, only LED lights
              With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
              Some issues
              A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
              B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

              Things I tried

              Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

              Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

              My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
              1. I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
              2. I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
              3. I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

              I am currently working on recovering my HP Laptop (Model: 17-cn0023dx) after a BIOS corruption issue. The laptop is stuck in a no-boot state, and the Caps Lock light is blinking with a 3.2 code (3 long, 2 short), which according to HP documentation indicates a BIOS corruption failure.

              I would like to request a bios for the following laptop?
