Hi everyone,
My Dell G15 5530 laptop (with Intel i7-13650HX processor) is corrupted/bricked. I managed to successfully read the original 32MB BIOS chip using a CH341A programmer, and I am attaching the original backup file below.- Model: Dell G15 5530
- Service Tag: C75J9X3
- Motherboard Chipset: Intel HM770 (CSME v16)
- CPU: i7-13650HX
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 140W
Could someone please help me generate a clean, working BIOS (Clear ME / Fix) using my original backup?
Thank you so much in advance!

Hi @danito,
First of all, thank you very much for preparing and sharing the clean BIOS. I really appreciate your help.
I used the clean BIOS you provided for my Dell G15 5530 (LA-M531P Rev 1.0 A00).
The BIOS programming process was successful:- Erase OK
- Write OK
- Verify OK
- The read-back file is identical to the programmed file (HxD compare)
- The laptop now boots normally into BIOS and Windows 11
However, I still have one remaining issue:- The Service Tag becomes blank after every reboot
- Manufacturing Mode is enabled again after restart
- Even if I manually enter the Service Tag and disable Manufacturing Mode in BIOS, the changes are only temporary
- After saving and rebooting, the Service Tag is blank again and Manufacturing Mode returns
Important details:- BIOS date and time are retained correctly
- Other BIOS settings are also saved correctly
- Windows works normally once booted
I originally started this whole process because of this exact Service Tag / Manufacturing Mode problem. Even before flashing the clean BIOS, the laptop was losing the Service Tag and entering Manufacturing Mode, which is why I decided to reprogram the BIOS chip with a clean BIOS.
Now, despite using the clean BIOS, the system still behaves the same way.
I still have my original backup dump and can provide it if needed.
Thanks again for your help!

Hello Sparo,
I flashed the BIOS you provided and the laptop worked normally. Windows booted successfully, and I entered my BIOS settings, Service Tag, date and time.
After that, I restarted the laptop at least 4–5 times, and the Service Tag stayed programmed correctly. Everything seemed fixed.
Later, I powered the laptop on again and Windows installed some updates. After the updates finished, Windows asked for a restart. When I clicked Restart, the laptop never booted again.
Now, when I press the power button:- the battery LED turns white,
- the keyboard backlight flashes briefly,
- but there is no display and no further response.
I also disconnected the battery connector and tried powering the laptop directly from the AC adapter, but the behavior is the same.
Do you have any idea what could cause this after the system had already been working normally with your BIOS?
Thanks again for your help.

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by TeslaI have a Dell XPS-15 (9520) with the LA-L402P motherboard. It seems to have bricked itself after a common BIOS-Firmware upgrade. Now, it just shows BIOS screen for a few seconds before turning-itself back Off (and doesn't seem to be fully Posting). I've done these many times before with no problems.
I was hoping to please have my own-thread to work-through this (hopefully successful) repair as a whole. Apart from the possible need to have a BIOS-dump fixed-up, I have a feeling I'm going to have other questions. This includes using my new XGecu-T76 for the first time (should be here... -
by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by mizzedHi, Would anyone have a bios dump for a Dell Precision 5530 2in1 LA-F211P rev 1.0.
Following a failed bios, I had a new bios chip programmed with the the XPS 15 9575 2in1 LA-F211P rev 1.0, which the motherboard has identical model numbers, (having not being able to find a 5530 2in1 bios) however both in bios and os, the Vega graphics, and sound boards are not detected or installable, everything else worked fine. The only difference I can see is that although the motherboards are nearly identical is that they have slightly different CPU/GPU 8705g vs 8706g.
If anyone...-

by kantusjackHello,
I am troubleshooting a Dell XPS 12 with motherboard 9Q23 (Compal LA-8821P) that failed during a Windows 10 update. The system powered off abruptly and never booted again. Initial behaviour- No display at any time (internal or external)
- Power button would immediately shut the system off
- System auto-powers when AC adapter is connected (battery removed)
- Beep code: 3 beeps – pause – 3 beeps (continuous)
- Fan never spins
