Still not turning on.. No charging Led or any indicator.. im sure its bad bios programming though. Because its working fine prior except for admin password. :-(
Could it be because my RT809F is not capable of reading and writing the chip correctly?

I bet you read the chip with errors..write the bios chip back with the original bios and see what happens..

If there is a schematic and boardview available have a look around the chip for missing or dislodged resistors ,check carefully.

Carefully scraped the bottom where the pad was until exposed a bit of internal metal and used a very thin wire to position on that very tiny spot
It wouldn't take solder (spot too small to hold even the tiniest amount of solder) so just held it in place while reading the chip
It wasn't solid connection but enough to power it and get a good dump then transferred the contents to a new chip

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
                                        (from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've...

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
                                        by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…...

Dell Latitude 5431 issues with dumping bios
                                        by Sathsul
So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...

Dell XPS-15 (9520) Mostly Bricked after common BIOS-Firmware upgrade - Full Repair Log

I have a Dell XPS-15 (9520) with the LA-L402P motherboard. It seems to have bricked itself after a common BIOS-Firmware upgrade. Now, it just shows BIOS screen for a few seconds before turning-itself back Off (and doesn't seem to be fully Posting). I've done these many times before with no problems.

I was hoping to please have my own-thread to work-through this (hopefully successful) repair as a whole. Apart from the possible need to have a BIOS-dump fixed-up, I have a feeling I'm going to have other questions. This includes using my new XGecu-T76 for the first time (should be here...
