Get a new chip and solder it that's basically the only solution I know of
Good luck dealing with the ultra strong epoxy under the MEC1503… Well at least Lenovo didn't drop in a glob top as well x)
The BIOS then should self heal and the machine would be unlocked

it was model L590 -I'm not sure whether L490 has the same layout- but if it is identical, the via I used is a bit more to the right.
Remove the protective coating and solder a thin wire to it. Connecting it with a small push button switch to ground makes it easy to adjust the timing.

I am trying to do this on a locked L14G1 with tamper detection activated for 50 times but fail to reach the goal on unlocking this machine. The machine has an ncpe68A which should be easy according to the first page. I used already Io0 to io2. I tried different timings and usually it just freezes. The L14 Gen 1 boardview also have espi written on it, is it still LAD? It also tells me that temper detection is activated I gued the switch down.

Would be Grateful for tips
