It's okay, I just wanted to know which SIO/EC you have. It seems to be a MEC1503H
It can be bypassed using this method, but it's a bit hard, you need to keep trying > Ec Pwd Bypass
At least it's better than the alternative method > Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprog...

Is it possible to damage the board when i try to use the bypass method?

It doesn't work with MEC15XX/17 and NCPX chips (any board using the eSPI protocol).
And yes, it is possible to damage the motherboard, corrupt data, or lose all the PC's DMI information using this technique.

Hello.
With this dump i get fan at full speed + charger LED amber on. Small progress but progress

Bios dump from SMDFlea produces only amber light on charge port, nothing else.
Bios dumps from InfoDoc2 produces the same behavior like before, amber light on charge port and fan at full speed.

Now i'm 99.9% sure it is not bios problem.

I had reason to believe I have a corrupted BIOS on the following laptop, please see attached BIOS file and if possible could someone provide me with one that is working that would be great

Problem is that it no longer boots after previous user changed unknown BIOS settings, still shows light and fan starts up then stops.#
After unplugging the CMOS battery I was able to boot into BIOS, which would after sometime freeze and now it no longer can boot again, even after CMOS replacement.

The main bios should be at U2201. The one you posted is from another chip i think, and it wasn`t a good backup. Don`t erase anything on that chip, find U2201 and make a backup

It was from u2201, as I had asked in a previous post to double check, just tried again, see attached and screenshot just incase.

The size of the compressed attachment 11.71MB compared to the last one you posted , 2.26MB is much better , you made a bad backup the first time. Are you using a clip or pogo adapter ?

Using a Pogo adapter as I couldn't get a clip to recognise nor stay on. shaky hands is probably what did it lol, ty for confirming!

Any chance anyone confirm if that file is corrupted (I do not know how to tell) and could provide me with a working BIOS file?

Tried it and does not show light when power button is pressed, went to OG BIOS and now same thing, fear I may have cooked this thing ;-;

I'm guessing I've blown/shorted something, erased BIOS, wrote the new BIOS to it and then verified it without any issues, that would be my only guess, ty for taking the time to help me

I think the 2nd backup I took also wasn't very good, flashed the last file from this thread that shouldn't be compatible and got lights back flashing on the laptop - if anyone could provide me with a clean new one that would be much appreciate
