            It's completely empty

            only
            FFFFFFFFFFFFF, not simply corrupted
The computer was taken to another repair shop, which took great care to ensure that it could not be repaired at all. The BIOS chip is completely blank according to my CH314A programmer.

The BIOS starts but it doesn't recognize the SSD device at all, and the message "manufacturing mode programming mode is in unlock mode" appears.
I played a lot with the secureboot and legacy settings and tried different SATA and NVMe SSDs but nothing to do, obviously the disk is not recognized even in F2 diagnostics
I tried flashing the original BIOS from a USB stick at startup (WIN+B/WIN+V), but it wasn't recognized. I also tried a WinPE with the bios.exe file, with the same result.

good morning, I downloaded and unzipped the original bios from the HP website, the only corresponding acronym I found is 085F3, so I downloaded the 085F3 file from the link you posted but unfortunately it is 16mb.

APC BR1000G battery backup has a weird issue sometimes a bad battery icon and making a weird sound for about 30 seconds
                                by sam_sam_sam
This started a few days ago and does this about every 8 hours

After it does this it goes back to normal no bad battery icon and no weird sounds and it goes to battery backup mode so I am not sure what is going on with this battery backup

The battery backup is about 3 or 4 years old

Dose anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot this issue I have never had a battery backup do this kind-a thing before so I am not sure exactly how to troubleshoot it and where to start

Copy DMI info easily with Hex editing software and Macro script
                                by SMDFlea
Copying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.

Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....

                                Hello,

i hope to find help her in the forum. It is a littlebit tricky. I searched many Days about disabling IntelME that was may major task. So i have a Clevo PD50PNN motherboard.

At first i tried to Backup the BIOS with tools direcly from Windows(normaly i am a Linux user). But no full success because not every part of the bios was readable. So i bought a modified CH341a for a Backup.

Backup worked but since the backup the Laptop is not booting anymore. I flashed the newest Version oft the BIOS with success, verfiy everything ok.
                                But the...

                                Backup to USB drive

Okay, I fixed my USB problems discussed in another thread. Now I would like to back up some files. I bought a USB enclosure and a 2 TB SSD (I should have saved $50 and bought one without cache, but I bought the more expensive Samsung EVO 570 instead).

I seem to prefer Linux Mint, although I could probably use Microsoft Backup for Windows 7. I think it still exists. Here's what I did with Mint 18.3 tonight:

                                Code:
                                cp * -pR "/mnt/win7-drive/users/mike/My Pictures/" "/mnt/usb-enclosure/My Pictures"
                                and

                                Code:
                                cp * -pR "/mnt/iwn7-drive/users/mike/My
                                ...
