    Help ! ASUS K53SD ASUS REV.5

Hello everyone, I'm writing here maybe someone will be able to help me, for two days I've been trying to repair a notebook (ASUS K53SD) without success. the PC turns on and the Asus logo appears but it doesn't go on, it doesn't enter the bios and it does nothing else. after having done numerous tests such as changing the ram hdd etc. I read somewhere that it could be the bios, I bought a programmer (ch341a with clip) but even by flashing memory I had no results, it remains on the Asus logo screen. I attached some photos. Thanks in advance

hi like Lisa Su suggested trying F1, theremore and first of all you have to check all Bios simple settings ! i have had few asus laptops having hanging on logo because of missing setup simple steps as to start with : do you have any os like windows or any other already installed if yes the next question is : did you play with the bios settings by any coincidence? or otherwise a bios for this asus you can find on the net (not as impossible as it looks) and you try with ch341 againfirst read if can and backup before any flashing. hope this helps a bit

                        HI ,
I did as Lisa suggested but it doesn't work
I can't access the Bios, therefore I can't access the settings.
Yes Windows 10, I also changed memory from HDD to SDD, it's not a system or memory problem.
A year ago I updated the bios from Windows but had no problems.
I no longer have the original backup unfortunately.

I'm starting to think that it's no longer a Bios problem, but I can't understand what it is... are we sure that that chip in the photo is the bios? or I don't know if there is a second bios chip?

                        Thanks for the reply

okay i see, but i persist trying the basics for all possible missteps i assume you put back old hdd (if still working) to check but yet and again u need let dryout laptop for any power left (cmos reset and let it disconnect for a while) and check battery connected as well disconnected and connect again only on wall source , and some ssd can totally go dead with a powershoratge or a heavy shake(like i had once with an ssd form ebay) and also an other time it was a dead ram/ramslot preventing device from accesing any Os...

Yep, this is a bios chip.

noticed something, the highlighted part when touching it is very hot immediately, do you think this is normal?

Well my friend just do this steps
1 - remove the main battery and cmos battery if they installed
2 - carfuly unplug screen connector on the motherboard and check for any damage or dust on the connector
3 - after you check the screen connector replug the screen caple or if you have external monitor try connect it via vga or hdmi and power on the laptop
as for the heat in the marked area .. is it from the bottom side of the board maybe pch or graphic card just see what is it and reply

What abot the hot spot on the other side of the motherboard is there any change ?
is your graphic card integrated or not (nvidia , amd or intel )

NVIDIA GFORCE 610 2GB integrated video card

my friend is seems like a pch or gpu proplem
on the other side of the motherboard (bottom) there are the cpu,pch and gpu chips
the nvidia card is not integrated card
if you have some expirance i sugest to isolate the nvidia gpu first or what it called (dis to uma)
search it on the internet and see the result

forget to sugest removing the hard drive if it attached
and the discreted of the gpu in this asus model done by removing tow coils that are next to gpu ram chips
