Greetings all!,

New here and resisted asking a question but, seems my response from Asus was just an attempt at a "money grab" for them!. I have an ASUS laptop that, after 8 days, was able to get a window displaying "enter rescue password" with a date of 2012/01/03 .

I have looked all over the net for a rescue password and cannot find one. I like trying to do my own work but, sometimes there comes a time one must ask for help.

I have two of these that were given to me from a lady 3 weeks ago diagnosed with leukemia whom purchased both new at a "back to school" sale - 1 for her and 1 for her grandson.

got his up and running and so far I have replaced a defective hard drive in hers. The hard drive is empty.

Can anyone help me out here so i can get this back to her asap?...Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Well, nobody helped out but, it is what it is. At any rate, I was successful and all passwords are gone in spite of it taking me 9 days.

After cleaning and resetting the cmos- battery i am now on 2011-01-01;


but the string 1BLDABLA doesn't work by a Czech keyboard-the keys are the same..

Has ever an Idea...?

So I saw on another thread to use the password for the date your looking for but 10yrs old. I was looking for 2017/05/27, I used the password for 2007/05/27 and it worked. The list is available on this thread somewhere. It's worth a shot, I didn't think it was going to work either, but I've all but given up.

Hi I'm looking for a rescue password for a ASUS X550C - Current date is 2017/06/08 or i'll take tomorrow's date too 2017/06/09

Oops - Just noticed the zip file above and I can now get into the Bios !!

My new problem is after I save and exit with my new password it just goes staright into Bios (ie loops !) I've tried factory defaults but no joy...Help

After just pull cmos battery out a couple of min then put it back reboot should all be good if not check voltage on cmos battery under 3 volts replace it.
