    6830s Keyboard works only in BIOS

    I have 6830s damaged by thunderstroke over LAN
    Changed: SB, lan chip.
    Laptop turns on and work fine but keyboard work only in bios. Changed KB and flash bios and still without success.
    Some suggestions?

      Did you change the keyboard kontroller?

          Yes, KB is changed(KBC1091-NU)

              have you tried looking under device manager?

              if it works in bios, maybe its a driver issue. try uninstalling the keyboard on device manager and restart

              and maybe you have a live linux cd that you can boot from your dvd drive to test if it will going to work under it.

                  if it works on the bios i would suggest reformating the laptop coz it is surely a software problem, either it is a prob with the drivers or there is a conflict with another program. that would be the easiest solution, that is of course if reformating is an option.

                      I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays β€œNo AlienFX devices found.”



                      What I've Tried So Far:
                      • Reseated the cables.
                      • Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
                      • Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
                      • Inspected ribbon cables for damage.

                      So I couldn't remember my bios password and since it was broken screen, I used to connected to the TV via Type C to HDMI. So I decided to remove the Bios chip and reprogram the Bios chip with ch314a.. when I try to solder Bios on the laptop, one of the Bios leg broke off.. I bought a new blank Bios chip so I can programmed by flashing on the bios.

                      Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

                      Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                      Hello,

                      I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
                      So I thought it was a Bios problem.
                      I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                      I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

                      I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

                      After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
