Im far from expert ;P really far.... Im begginer like you but but couple motherboards later
Resolder is fine if you use low temperature solder so you hotair that chip about 4 seconds and its done...
And you should practice on some broken motherboards soldering skills to avoid that situations....

Yess the chip is missing a PIN on the right. There was a slight circuit imprint that was moved from a PIN but not disconnected. Should I send this to Poland and let an expert handle it ?I saw on Ali Express that you can buy a similar chip but honestly I don't trust my ability to resolder everythting back.

Jeez
Clean motherboard with IPA in first place to see te REAL damage (its not tragic based on this photo) capacitors looks are in place ;P and chips pins are alive sooo....
About chip hmm its missing one pin on right? Only egde 8 pins are important ;P
DOnt ever go that hot for soo long make pausesif its tough....

It need a bit of heating because of solder under the chip not only on edges. I use flux and hotair it come off after 1.5 minWSON8 chip are pain in a** if youre new to this
Dont rush just warm it for some time it will go offjust dont go too hot
Its matter of time not temp.

Do you have an idea how to dissolder this chip ? With the 16Mb, it was quite easy because the pins were exposed, I added solder and the used the air gun. But with this one the pins are quite small. I tried adding flux and rising the temps (400°C) but no luck. Here is the image, it's the chip on the right.

HI ahmed lachtar
Upload Winbond 25Q256JVEN which is 32MB flash. Your 16MB dump dont have required data to modify

Hello,
This is my first BIOS unlock and I congratulate you guys for understanding this Rocket Science stuff.
So, I have a bios locked DELL Latitude 5440 (motherboard la-m401p) and serial number ST: J6BKSV3.
I have two chips that look like a bios :
- Winbond 25R128JVS -> Dissoldered and read content (backup validated twice)
- Winbond 25Q256JVEN -> Not read yet, I don't have the part to read it
The bios dump I read is 16Mb and I see that in this thread most of the dumps are 32Mb. So either I read the wrong chip or I don't have the same configuration as you.
Thank you in advance.Attached Files
