You have selected the wrong chip with the IC1 file.
The Latitude 5540 model has two chips: one chip containing the bios part (32MB), one chip containing the ME part (16 MB)
So: the number 128 gives us 16MB of data. For example: 25Q128JVSQ
The number 256 gives us 32MB of data. For example: 25Q256JVSQ

              Oh sorry for that,
i'm a noob in BIOS Chips reading and writing. i just can't find the other Chip that has the 256 in it. I attached pictures of the board, and marked the two IC's (1M and 16M) that i was able to find. Maybe you can help me locate the 32M IC? On the backside of the board are no such IC's at all.

              THX in advance

Find the other side of the motherboard.

Thank you for your advice. I finally found it. It looks different and i can't grab it with my clamp to read it. I think i've to desolder it from the board for reading and writing or ist there another solution?

there is no other solution, charge do not use the clamp, the bios chip is always removed from the board before writing or reading..
Due to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:
