        Hi everyone,
I have a Dell Latitude 5430 (Service Tag: 4HK5GK3) that originally had a BIOS password.
There are two BIOS chips on the motherboard. I identified the main chip and successfully read and saved its contents using a CH341A programmer.

        Here's what I did:
        1. I read and backed up the original BIOS from the main IC.
        2. I then erased the chip and flashed a clean BIOS file (no password) from the internet.
        3. After installing the chip back into the board, the laptop no longer powers on — only a brief power light when pressing the power button, then it shuts off immediately.
        4. I tried to recover by reprogramming the original BIOS dump back to the chip — but the laptop is still completely dead. Same behavior: power light flashes briefly and turns off.
        Can someone please help me:
        • Determine what went wrong?
        • Suggest how to recover this board?
        • Is it necessary to flash the second BIOS IC as well?
I will attach the original BIOS dump I took from the board before any changes.

        Thanks in advance!

You made a bad backup, it`s all zeros, that`s why it wouldn`t work when you flashed it back..

Not this chip, look for the chip with the number 256 on the back.

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
                      by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...

                      by anlsmith
I am trying to remove the BIOS password for a Dell Latitude 5430 motherboard LA-L591P. So far I think that I have located the BIOS chip but NeoProgrammer says that is detects 3 chips. I have attached the dump from each one. Are any of these the BIOS file? Service Tag: 1DMC1T3. If nyone knows the exact location of the bios chip as well I would greatly appreciate it...
