Hey, thanks for sending that file. At least it posts. However, code 0183: Bad CRC of security setting in EFI variable is displayed and the bios is still locked
Did not fully check but i could previously boot windows from this laptop even if it was a locked bios. However now, it simply asks to go to setup mode where it asks for password. Oof. Would be a great help if anyone can at least turn the original file back in a usable state.
Flashing multiple different bios filles from here either did not clear the password or just straight up bricked the bios entirely. Looking at the board schematics there is supposed to be an EEPROM in my board but there is no chip on the place where there is supposed to be an EEPROM on the physical board. Hence my next conclusion was that the password might be stored in the EC (in this case it is IT8886HE), which led me to master Maxpower3's EC bypass guide. I am a novice when it comes to this stuff. From this i was atleast able to recover my original bios file which lets me access the bios with limited features. I can now boot stuff as i used to. However the password still exists on the bios. I have tried shorting LAD0:3 pins (corresponding to pins 7-10 in my board) one by one dozens of times and i am not able to remove the password. The laptop just hangs as long as i keep shorting one of those pins. It is only after i release the pins when the setup continues as normal.
Am i missing something?
Any suggestion is highly appreciated
