It worked, thank you very much, I just learned how to crack passwords using EC files, I wonder if passwords can be broken using one of two files, it's true that the more I learn, the more stupid I feel :v

Once in Windows, download BCU utility and run the executable file to generate a configuration file. Modify the file to make manufacturing mode to go away by changing asterisk from "*Unlocked" to "*Locked" and watch for any errors.

Hi everyone, I flashed the patched file but it gives me the error lights on the keyboard and it doesn't turn on! I checked the checksum and everything is the same as the file you gave me..

                                            by abhorsen
                                            Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...

Dell Optiplex 7010 micro bad BIOS flash?
                                            by mrrubik
                                            Hi folks,

I got a Dell Optiplex 7010 micro PC (Exact Model) with 8FC8 BIOS and locked out admin password. I attempted to remove the password by patching the BIOS via info from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ssword-patcher
After flashing the patched the BIOS, the PC is unresponsive with a solid AMBER power LED (not documented in manual anywhere)

                                            Steps I took:
                                            1. Read BIOS with CH341a, verified hash twice
                                            2. Patched
                                            ...

Is it okay to flash stock bios onto the motherboard's BIOS?

                                            Hi there,
                                            I have a 14" Lenovo Laptop (Flex 5 14ALC05) which has a boot issue.
The little LED on the power button is flashing slowly and nothing happen.
This unit do not have any BIOS button cell battery so I tried many times draining the power but it is still not powering on.

So I decided to flash the BIOS using a cheap programmer.
And I was successfully able to read the content (exactly 16MB file) which BTW is a WINBOND 74m12jwsiq (according to the package inscription - but detected as W25Q128FW in the software - IMSProg on Linux)

                                            I also...

Request: SPI Flash BIOS Dump (Winbond 25Q128) for Dahua NVR4216-4KS2
                                            by spmetroil
                                            Hello,

I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).

I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:
                                            1. Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
                                            2. Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: “Chip with the contents are in disagreement.”
                                            3. Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI
                                            ...
