There was a BIOS backup posted, but he deleted it. I'm not sure why
Maybe the laptop finished the update and is now posting normally

Try this file (I've injected the BIOS region into your file as requested)

Open the .FL1 file with HxD, go to the start of the file, and select 0x320 bytes (hexadecimal) and delete that block
Then go to offset 0x1000000 and delete everything from there onward. What's left is the BIOS region that should be injected into the backup of the Giga chip at offset 0x1000000

Unfortunaly after re-flashing the BIOS file you provided, the LED on the Lenovo cover flashes when I plug in the charger, the battery LED stays on, but the PC won't start up anymore.

Post the full motherboard number. You mentioned HT4B1 HX3B0
So I might've assumed wrong I guess. Could it actually be NM-D361 Rev:1.0

Nothing works; the problem must be somewhere else... We replaced the power button, but the issue remains the same.

No change, still 5 second FAN spin when power button pressed then shutdown. After Shutdown Amps draw is fluctuating betweeen 60-140 Milliamps.
If in this condition i remove only the charger and replug then no more fan spin after powerbutton press.

firmware corrupt after update, doesn't boot. I''ve been trying to reconstruct the firmware using FIT, using the original GBE and BIOS regions and the clean ME from lenovo ME update N34RG18W. I almost made it, OS will boot and run properly with wifi etc, but second USB port (the one on the USB IO board) won't work, reporting over current protection as soon as device plugged in. in FIT i can't find the error and I'm lost right now.
I've attached the original dump of U2201, U2202 and my attempt to recrate a working firmware. maybe someone can tell me what has to be changed for the second usb port to work properly, many thanks in advance!

It's possible, but these MEC1503 ECs are a bit tough to deal with for now
