Hi, if this needs to go in different category please let me know

I have Dell Latitude 5520, however it refusing a Bios Update, the current Bios version 1.30. Its 11th gen with with an 1135 G7 CPU.

I have tried everything under the sun to try and get this Laptop to update the Bios, Latest version 1.47, however It wont do the Bios Update, via Windows, Via USB, Via Network, same issue, in Windows it does the checks and says its restarting the laptop, however all I get is black screen, nothing after that, 15/20/30 minutes, even 1 hour after.

I tried using the Bios recovery RCV file, after pressing CTRL+ESC and inserting the power, keyboard lights up and nothing, no Bios recovery Page. Just a black screen.

I tried version 1.36 (next one up) same thing

Checked all setting in Bios, should work, even deleted the Stored firmware updates in Windows.

Short of pulling the Motherboard out and removing and reprogramming the Bios with Fresh Bios, I am out of ideas. Can be done but its long.

Anyone experience a similar issue with Dell Laptop like this??? Let me know, could it be partition issue or windows issue or just a corrupt bios?

    Kind Regards,

post merged...next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

      Hello all,

I have also problem with my Latitude 5520. Seems to be corrupted BIOS. Laptop turns on, fan is spinning, no picture (LCD Built-in Self-Test is OK), keyboard is lit, but thats all. Could clean BIOS fix this issue?

      Dell Latitude 5520
      Service Tag: 66MX2B3
Motherbord model: I can't see the motherboard type from the inside.
Original BIOS from IC W25R256JVEIQ attached.
      Thanks for your help....

It works for me, but there is one problem: when exiting safe mode, the machine can no longer power on. Can you help me?

I've got a Dell Latitude 5520 here which supposedly has a passwordt on its bios. The laptop does not post. It looks like a lot is missing in the dump. Could somebody please have a look at it?

Dell Latitude 5530 BIOS Password Removal Attempted but I Broke the Laptop
                                        by TopPop
Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

Dell Latitude 5431 issues with dumping bios
                                        by Sathsul
So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...

                                        Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
                                        (from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've...
