Hi everyone,
I’m working on a Dell Latitude 5520, board Wistron 19819-1 / SouthPeak15 TGL.
Original CPU was SRK1F / Core i7-1185G7 and it was faulty.
I replaced it with SRKSF / Core i5-1155G7.
The replacement CPU was taken from a working Lenovo NM-D472 motherboard. I tested the Lenovo board before removing the CPU and it booted normally with display.
Current status:- Board powers on
- Current stays at 0.08A
- No display
- No POST
- Tried different BIOS dumps
- Schematic does not show any clear CPU SKU resistor/strap changes
My questions:- Does this board need any resistor or strap change for SRK1F to SRKSF?
- Could this be caused by BIOS / Intel ME / PMC / FIT mismatch?
- Has anyone successfully done this CPU swap on Tiger Lake-UP3 Dell boards?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-
