When I start the update from Windows with the tool downloaded from the official website, it seems to be installing it and then it asks me to restart the PC but when it restarts the classic bios flash doesn't start but Windows restarts as if nothing had happened.
I also tried to run the update from the USB stick by pressing F12 during the post but the result is always the same.

The service tag is: H27K5Q2 and I also attach the bios file.

    Thank you all.

Hello guys, sorry for reviving this old thread.

I'm super new to BIOS flashing, and I wouldn't like to brick my Dell's BIOS.
I've bought a Dell Latitude 5490 for almost nothing from a local company that closed its doors. So they were almost giving them for free.
I bought two of the same model, both with BIOS password set.

I could clear one by using that bios-pw tool which generates a backdoor password for it. But when I tried to do the same for the other one (I repeat: same exact model and rev), it didn't work.

This was a couple of years ago, my actual problem is that the BIOS battery emptied and now I have to re-flash the BIOS. I tried to follow Dell's official method (by sticking a USB while pressing F7 with a Dell tool to re-flash the BIOS) but it asks me for the old password again, so I'm stuck with this nice locked laptop.
A friend of mine borrowed me a CH341 flasher and told me that if I got the correct firmware for it, I could re-flash it and bypass the password.
Diving into this forum, I found that you're all talking about the service tag related to the BIOS firmware dump, so I'm now kind of confused and I fear I mess the BIOS up if I flash any of the firmwares I've seen here.

Anyways, here's the service tag for this Dell Latitude 5490 laptop: 82ZRST2
If anyone could guide me into what to do, I would love to learn and try for myself.

    Huge thanks in advance.
