Hello, wanting to see if anyone has any experience with Dell 3100 Chromebook's and might have some input on an issue I've been seeing with them.
I work in Technology for a good size school district, and we've began to switch away from Lenovo Chromebooks over to Dell 3100. I like the Dell 3100's because they seem to be more durable than the Lenovo N22's, N23's and 100e's we've used in the past.. but my main complaint with them is they randomly won't turn on.
Currently, in my building I have about 200 students using the Dell 3100's and daily I have a rash of students coming to me because they can't get their Dell 3100's to turn on. To do so, I have to push the ESC, Refresh and Power Button keys to get it to come back on. At first I figured it was because they're running them dead, but lately I noticed that is not the case. In many instances when I get them back on, they're charged 50% or more. I've had a few that once back on, was charged above 90%.
I probably get upwards to 15 students a day with this issue and has been whack-a-mole with this all school year long. I'm hoping someone who has experience with the Dell 3100 might have some input on why this happens, or if there's a way to stop this from happening. It's annoying and sometimes prevents me from being able to do other stuff cause I'm having to just sit in my office and tend to students bringing in their Chromebook that won't turn on.
I still have 300+ Lenovo 100e's that are in use and never have ran into this with them.. it's only specific to the Dell 3100's.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone might have some insight.
